I just got a BCSS off a member here and was installing it and it seems like somethings missing. Should i have the plastic top hats on the bolts in the pic below?

you tried the caps off the stock ones an you said that they dont fit. so the bcss is useless unless the seller sends you caps that fit. if the seller cant then you might as well get ur money back

i think i used my stock ones on my BCSS. i took them off my stock shifter and forced it on the BCSS and never had a problem

I didn't have to transfer them for mine. The BCSS came with its own 'hats'.

that is strange... maybe it is an 02-03 vs 04-05 issue? I have an 04.

the only differance I can see is there is a american market bcss and a jdm bcss....the american ones allow you to use the stock shift knob and the jdm market one that has a larger shaft and requires you to get a different jdm knob.

I got one of the first BCSS made and you were supposed to snap off your stock ones.
It's possible the later ones came with them.
Regardless, your stock ones should not fall right off since the ball mounts should be identical in shape and size. did you crack them or anything when removing?
If not, perhaps it is a year discrepency.

yea the later ones came with the white caps. mine did. my stock caps wouldn't fit the BCSS either. they were too big i believe.

When I bought my BCSS it came with them. I was never asked what model year car I had when I bought it either.

It does not make sence.....the hats have to fit inside the cable ends...My money is he broke the stock "hats" when he removed them.

the "hats" fit into the cable ends just fine....but the stock hats dont fit on the BCSS. The bolts in my OP have a smaller head than the stock shifter.
