if i knew i wouldnt ask i just want to know because im going to get new rims and tires and i purchased my car with 17's but i dont know what the offset is and its runnig 205 tires, i was hopping to run 225's and im guessing i would need atleast 17x8 to run 225s

you're gonna need an alignment with some negative camber to run 225's, esp if you're dropped.. why not run 215/45-17's on a 7.5 in wheel?

would that look good?

those are the same specs as the HFP wheels, which i'm putting on my car in about a week. obviously they're not the widest tires but if it's grip you're looking for then just get a good set of tires. the BFGoodrich G-force Sport are a good tire for daily driving that won't break the bank. i'm gonna get the Azenis RT-615 which are a little more expensive. plus you won't have to have crazy negative camber which will help with the wear of the tires..

recomended rim size in everywhere ive looked for a 225 is 7 inches. hope that helps. there is also a fitment thread, if you search, where people have been posting the rim/tire size as well as offset in addition to any notes on rubbing.

jerry was just playing devil's advocate...

it's just your question seems silly and is kinda like asking if 24's would fit on a mini cooper...

i was also asking myself that question, what i want is that where my car end the rim start, give it a little more agressive look, i was planin to buy 5Zigen GN+ Pro Racer Wheel 17x8.5, but i think 7.5 with 35mm offset and 215/45 would do just fine

i also saw your what wheel color for a vbp ep thread, stick with bronze man. i wnet bronze ( paint my stockies lol ) and im not planin to go back, my ep looks like a sti lol.

well mines are gold but a lot of people tell me to not waste money on rims since i have some already its just mines are this bs brand called bsa i and i never even heard of them so i put honda center caps and i dont even know the offset or anything and i need new tires, so im hoping when i get 225's they will fit on this rims because anything under 215 looks to skinny from the back and i dont like that

215/45 would look semi-stretched on a 7.5 wide 17" rim.

It will fit, but it really depends on offset, tire width and sidewall, and car height. There are a lot of factors to consider. Remember, this is just a civic . . .

215/45 would look semi-stretched on a 8" wide 17" rim.

truth, really there isn't much you can do before fender rolling or flares are required

If you are running a 17x8.5 you are going to need to run a 235 tire. And please don't stretch tires!

run a 17x8 +42 with a 225/45 or 235/40 it will work. that is what i run and have a 2" drop with no rubbing.
