We'll first day back from school. I'm at home open my trunk lid and grab my binder, then I close it... But because I forgot something, I go back out and try to open my trunk, it won't open anymore, it feels like the latch is stuck. I tried locking unlocking numerous times, putting the key in, turning trying to open, nothing works. Any solutions??

crawl through the backseats and see what you can find or if the lock has somethin jammed in it or something.

I don't even have a trunk anymore. Mine has a giant box with a sub in it that I have grown tired of....

My 02 with 109000 miles does this sometimes also, I just work the handle back down (original postion) and then lock and unlock a few times (with remote) and then it opens..... I'll open the panel up when I get some time :mangel:

your hatch handle might be stuck in the open position. try manually pushing the handle back to the point it normally returns, ie all the way down. then try your unlock button and try opening it.

Grab a can of PB Blaster and spray the hinges from the outside first. Had the same issue with mine once. Hopefully it works.

This may be unrelated but the two bolts that hold the latch to the hatch loosened up on me once.

In true ghetto fashion, I drilled through the plastic to access the phillips heads and torqued them down. This solved a hatch rattle issue I was having. Perhaps if it's loose enough, it could cause the latch to get stuck.

hm I'll have to try to take off the panel. It feels like the handle is in the fully closed position, but the handle will not go past where it is suppose to click to open...

Could this have anything to do with the dumb valet key we get? I'm not sure, just another thought to pursue.

Good luck!

Do you ever hear a rattle from back that way? Curious to see what this turns out to be.

No rattle. But great news I fixed it. Stuck my keys in the little slot under the door as an attempt, jiggled it around heard a click, and waalahh! Fixed! So I assume it was just jammed. Maybe from a small peice of glass from my incident, or maybe from the people that fixed it? who knows
