Whenever I do a morning start, after about 4 mins of idling it starts to puff out white smoke. as more time passes , there becomes more and more smoke.

once i start driving though, it seems to go away.

i stopped at a gas station to check it out, and asked my friend to push on the gas alittle.

everytime he pushed the gas, white smoke came out, but not alot.

What do you guys think is going wrong?

Is my turbo going bad?

wouldnt worry too much bout white smoke.. usually steam.. especially if it cold where u stay at.. black or blue smoke is what u should worry about

you should check out your oil (drain it and look at it), just to rule out a headgasket

You shouldnt see any smoke, a simple condensation filled exhaust only lasts for a few minutes and isnt thick at all, more like a lite fog. Heavy, thick white smoke is usually a sign of burning coolant.

maybe just seeping

u should coolant pressure test it and see if it drops down in pressure without any External leaks

check the seals on the turbo itself. does it blow any smoke during driving? either on accel or decel?

my friends say that sometimes white smoke comes out during accel. its not constant though,

the turbo was re-buillt, and has been on my car for about a month.

is there a diy coolant pressure test?

well is it white...or kinda white/buish. if blueish, then its probly oil seals in the turbo, and if its white, then ur getting coolant into the exhaust gases, more than likey headgasket. do a leak down test and compression test and post the results, that will tell u.

Its def your oil return line. Check it, oil is being pushed through your seals. Do you have a tapped oil pan, banjo? etc. What size is the line? Are there any bends in the line that would obstruct oil flow?

you can check the IC pipping conencted to the turbo and see if there is any oil in it, if so, turboZZ

if your smoke is very white and reall puffy you might definitely want to make sure your head gasket is ok. talonxracer is def spot on.

blue smoke = oil getting in your combustion chamber

very dark/black smoke = fuel issues to rich prob
