Ive searched and cant really find an answer....is there anyhting besides Honda MTF that you can use safely?

I use Royal Purple SynchroMax manual transmission oil. It works great. I run Royal Purple oil in my engine as well.

I've personally used Royal Purple, Amsoil, Pennzoil, and the Honda MTF. Amsoil > Honda > Pennzoil > Royal Purple, IMO

Amsoil = no gear grinding, no notchiness, nice and smooth
Honda = 3rd gear grinding, no notchiness
Pennzoil = no 3rd gear grinding, very notchy
Royal Purple = 3rd gear grinding, notchiness

i stick with honda....but a lot of people like the GM syncromesh
