My car had some problems starting up the other day and I tested the bat. and the alternator both work fine. I am wondering where the starter is and how I can test it and if its possible to start the car manually without having to push start it just curious thanks!

What do you mean when it doesn't start? Does it crank at all? Make any noises?

yeah it didn't start made some clicking noises and did not turn over. Could it be loose bat. cables?

If it's making a rapid clicking noise than I think you have a dead battery. Jump start it with another battery and see if it starts.

After about 10 min though I came back and on the first try it started up perfectly :/ And I did check the voltage on the battery was reading 12.5 v

If the car is running you should see more than 12 volts closer to 14. It can be the connections need to be cleaned as well. The battery could be damaged.

The starter is located directly below the intake manifold.
