Well the time has finally come. The A3 JRSC got boring so decided to switch it up. And before anyone asks no the A3 didnt blow up revving it to 8700 still in perfect condition just got bored of it lol.. Ok so now onto the build. IT has already come some way since ephatch has been down so got lots of pics to show u!! Im just lookin to break 300whp and im happy!

Nope lol. Not doing it myself. Its all at my shop. They have worked on my ep3 for 5 years. Theyve done everything to my ep3. I know i suck lol. Im one of the few customers who can just go there and hang out in the shop whenever i feel like it. So thats why im able to get pictures of the entire process. ANd u know shit is goin legit since im allowed to go back there and see everthing every step of the way.. does that mean u dont love me anymore :(

Yes. I bought the Revhard stage 2 and thats what it supposed to come with. The only thing that sketched me out is the label says "budget turbo" on it. But my shop said its gona be enough to break my goal and they are expectin it to hit 320whp. But we will see. I just want to break 300whp. Dont care if that means 301 lol

So guys what do u think I shoulld do. Ive been waiting for my mounts for a week. Got em from teamxxxracing. Rob told me he isnt sure if avid has shipped em caus they are currently moving into a new building. But he told me he can ship me out a set of avid 75a's all around and get em to me in 2-3 days. SHould I just say screw it and get the 75a's or be patient and wait for the 62a for the passenger side to reduce the vibration? I just want my car back and we are at a standstill caus we are waiting for the mounts :(

Well not much has been goin on lately because we have been waiting for parts. So finally everything arrived from honda today. New gaskets, new thermostat, etc etc. So the build finally continued today. Motor hopefully will be in tomorrow.

I had about 800(parts only) in my top mount mani and 3in down pipe..it would have been twice that for just the manifold from a big name company. DIY FTW if at all possible.

Awesome build though! Im using an sc44 and LOVE it. Good choice for the money.

Another reason his power output might have been low is because Evans tunes on the conservative/safety side.

i'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the clutch holds together. But that's the reason why I am going with a CC stage 4 when I start my k24 build. It will be all motor and most likely only 190-200hp with my skunk2 stage II cams, but I plan on adding a rotrex down the line or a JRSC on meth and then switch to a small shot of nitrous on the track. A boosted k24 puts out almost as much torque as it's horsepower. A stage 2 can only handle an increase in torque of about 75-80%. Based off of an a2 stock that's like 261ft/lbs of torque on the high end. You are probably pushing that limit right now!!

Yea well shouldve listened to you guys. BUt honestly it worked out for the better. The clutch was slipping. At 174tq the clutch slipped. But also it wasnt a good idea to breaak in the clutch on a untuned car. So they did a lil fuel trim and some part throttle and we'll see what happens with the clutch. I drove alot today but im gona let it cool down and maybe go for a spin later. I gotta say for right now its a freakin beast. 2nd and 3rd break as soon as boost comes in. Im not goin all out but Im givin it some gas but honestly I would be happy the way it sits now. The thing would SHIT on my JRSC a3. The tuner said from what he's seen so far the car is gona incredible. He said it should easilly break 300whp.

time for a stage 4 clutch. The slipping won't go away, it will only get worse. What we were all saying is that you should have driven it NA for a while, since a decent basemap would get you by for a good while, then after 500-800 miles added the turbo.

I don't mean to be a dick, but like I said earlier that stage II is only good to mid 200's if you're lucky. In a setup where all you need to do is turn the boost up and power goes up exponentially it is best to go a stage or 2 higher. You seem like the person that likes to do things right the first time, but you just missed the one important piece. The CC stage 4 is streetable on a DD application even with 200-210 hp and then can handle boosted applications.

umm. Spec stage 2 plus is rated at 300 ft-tq. I do like doin things right the first time. Thats why i looked up the specs for the Spec clutches. Stage 2 plus is rated at 300 ft-tq. how is that not good enough? That should be around where Im at. The bottom line is I bought the clutch through my shop so its warrantied. Im gona try and break it in and see what gives. I drove shit loads today and my buddy who works for honda says its not slippin bad at all that it seems like it just needs a lil more break in. If that doesnt work then My shop will get the stage 3 plus spec and i just have to pay the difference, and labor is obviously free. All i can do right now is do it 1 step at a time. The car is running very safe and honestly Im not worried about the the clutch because im having fun driving it the way it is right now. Its hella faster than my JRSC a3 So im just gona enjoy what i have now

Where are people gettin that I have a competition? ON page one of this thread it says Spec stage 2 plus.

Okay I'm not trying to harp on you, because I am envious of your setup, I truly am. It's just that I read that the Spec 2, not the spec 2+ was rated at 280 ft lbs of torque, but those are always flywheel rated. So after 15% loss to the wheels you are looking at 238 ft lbs to the wheels. Which is right where I figured it would only hold to, but on a 2+(300 to the flywheel) would only be 255 to the wheels. You should definitely be putting down more torque than that to the wheels! When it comes to clutches I just always use the assumption that if I am expecting 200 lbs of torque to the flywheel then I need a clutch capable of 250 or more. Pushing a clutch to the brink of it's holding capacity is not worth it when you can go a stage or 2 higher for almost the same price and can up the boost if you feel like it. Otherwise you are just taking a gamble. I am taking a gamble on my car right now. I will keep my fingers crossed that some more break-in will take care of the slight slipping so we can see what this beast really wants to put down! Just bear in mind that if it holds for a tune, that if you ever get that itch again for more power, a stronger clutch will definitely be needed.

Okay I'm not trying to harp on you, because I am envious of your setup, I truly am. It's just that I read that the Spec 2, not the spec 2+ was rated at 280 ft lbs of torque, but those are always flywheel rated. So after 15% loss to the wheels you are looking at 238 ft lbs to the wheels. Which is right where I figured it would only hold to, but on a 2+(300 to the flywheel) would only be 255 to the wheels. You should definitely be putting down more torque than that to the wheels! When it comes to clutches I just always use the assumption that if I am expecting 200 lbs of torque to the flywheel then I need a clutch capable of 250 or more. Pushing a clutch to the brink of it's holding capacity is not worth it when you can go a stage or 2 higher for almost the same price and can up the boost if you feel like it. Otherwise you are just taking a gamble. I am taking a gamble on my car right now. Ur prolly right man. I didnt think about it like that. I broke in the clutch and it doesnt slip anymore it actually holdss pretty good. But after the tune I dont really know if its gona hold all the torque. My mistake was lookin at the ratings for tq and not assuming it was to the wheels. Something I goofed on unfortuantely. The clutch seems to chatter really loud but when i push the clutch in it stops. But its definately grabing and not slippin now, but also Im not tuned. The car is just really runing rich and im throwing random misfire codes due to this (the tuner told me this would happen and not to worry about it). I needs to go on the dyno, But honestly I have to agree I just screwed up and went with the wrong clutch not thinkin at the time about the tq being to the wheels. Im gona go to my mechanics tomorrow who did everything and have him test drive it and see what he thinks we should do. But from a business stand point i know hes gona say to run this clutch and see what happens on the dyno because i know they dont want ot purchase a stage 3 and then the labor to do the job. Honestly evertying with this swap and and turbo went perfrect something was bound to go wrong and this is it. Even though this is goin; on the car pulls amazing. I gave it a lil gas in 2nd gear today and i thought the clutch was slipping but then realized it wasnt that i just hit the rev limit really quick because its only set at 6800 right now lol. The car is an animal and im hopin to just make a quick video for you guys to see what Im talking about. Im still able to get on it caus they tuned somewhat for me to run safe and also i have my methonal on top of it, but the thing guzzles gas like its a V8. I drove alot today to break in that clutch and i did a WOT pull from 3rd till about 6k rpm and the clutch grabbed fine, just some wheel spin.

I've only just seen method of doing it and I'm quite excited to say the lest ha

The removal of the sump seems to be the hardest part of turboing the EP3

Dropping the sump on my old EG5 was so easy I could of done it with my eyes closed and make boosted it very quick and simple but the EP BAH its the main reason I haven't boosted my EP3R yet lol

Using the stock hole wouldn't allow oil to drain correctly. Most people tap the pan at the highest point possible above the factory drain plug.

Removing the stock pan isn't that bad, I got the pan off without completely dropping the subframe. Putting it back on without any leaks was a little more nerve racking, but still not that bad.

I raced em again afterwards from 2nd gear and he only got me by about 2-2 1/2 cars, it was no where near how that first race was, I got completely destroyed in the 1st and ill admitt it. You win some u lose some. It sux caus my boy didnt film the second video so i really have no proof of it happening. But i honestly cant complain caus the only people that have ever beat me were that GTR and my boys hatch which runs 10's. Im always out cruising and ive raced tons of cars and no one has beaten me except those 2 cars

funny part is, if you could have 100% traction from a 2nd gear roll with some brake boost love, i can see you really pissing him off, youd have to be on your A game with your footwork though.
