View Full Version : Which Grille is the right OEM GRILLE?

I'm trying to look for the GLOSSY SHINY OEM BLACK GRILLE. (The one that is shiny on the 04-05 EP3) but according to Honda there is 2 kinds. Which one is the shinny one?

There is this one for the 04-05 EP3:
GRILLE, FR. *NH655M* (TYPE-R) AVANT-GARDE GRAY

The 02/03 and 04/05 USDM EP3 had the same grill... The CTR's are completely diff however. The 02/03 CTR had a grill similar to ours and the 04/05 uses the BIG red H emblem (Honda Pilot size). The 04/05 CTR grill also has a black trim that goes around the edges of the grill. Hope this helps.

They are different, my 02' came with a black plastic grille that either had no paint or was a flat/satin paint. The newer models came with a gloss super dark grey painted finish that had mettalic in it. I had to purchase 2 grilles so far and the differences are night and day.

thats what i thought too but is honda listing wrong? Cause i know the 04-05 ep have the shinner ones. So im guessing they flipped it around?

Every other parts site has the correct grilles showed, Majestic has them backwards, typical for Majestic.

So i went to Honda on Saturday and ordered my oem 02-03 GRILLE, FR. *NH544M* (TYPE R) GUNMETAL COOL BLACK METALLIC. Turns out that it wasn't the shinny one! I looked at the grille and it wasn't even painted like it was chalk grey. It didn't even have the "BLACK METALLIC"

Should i just go ahead and order the oem 04-05 GRILLE, FR. *NH655M* (TYPE-R) AVANT-GARDE GRAY?

That is EXACTLY what I told you, the early grilles are the satin black and the later grilles were gloss metallic.

Well it seems like the descriptions were backwards but the part numbers were correct. So since you told him the part numbers were backwards he ordered the one that was listed as shiny and receieved the unpainted one.

yeah. I got the 02-03 avant grey but 2 tabs are broken still useable. I bought it off an ephatch member on here not knowning that it was broken with 2 tabs.

Joseph, if you still need a grille, I can just give you the one sitting in my garage for free just pay for shipping. It's a little beat up and you can respray it matte black or something . . . or try to clean it up. None of the tabs are broken either.
