RTA round 1 Buttonwillow, i got a DNS cause i blew 3rd on sat, my car ended up as a donor car for the sick ass inlinefour EK9.
im working on getting a straight cut gear set. i'm going to have to use oem gears for vegas and will be dropping the power to around 400ish, probably on e85.

If you are doing that, have you considered a detune? I know you mention straight cut gears, but for the mean time run some upgraded gear sets and get detuned just a bit? Looks like you are having a blast!!! (I envy you right now)

cool, you will have to throw your oem dash and center console back in, other then that the cars looks good to go. if you get bumped to super modified you will be wasting your time.

You are allowed to have non-oem dash, I just need to add weight according to red line rule book.

i havnt had any issues, some blanks should be fine though.
i have no brake fade issues and would not get a bbk unless i got it for free, id rather have the ability to run 15s.

im running carbotech xp12 in the front xp10 in the rear. TA sessions are 1 warm up 3 hot laps and 1 cool down. on t&t days you get about a half hr per session. I dont get any fade and bite is great.

part 19 20 and 21 x4, they arnt cheap for what they are. yes they will fit.

Question, what did u have to do to delete the abs, and wht kind of mods did u have to do to the brake booster/master clyinder for the turbo to fit?

You need new lines and proportioning valve. I bought them off a guy on crsx but I think they are the non abs em2 lines and valve, someone needs to try it. You don't need to mod the bb or lines to fit the turbo. For street or strip autox you will be fine, for road racing not so much. I've had some major heat issues this weekend that we will be working out. that black cowl melted and dripped on my manifold, melted the bb check valve and boiled paint.

Too tired to find exact times and still haven't uploaded my pics and vids.
But..


At rta there was only 3 cars in my class me, the inlinefour ek, and the Sportcar Motion eg substituting their itr. First qualifing I ran the best time of 1.52 and I think they both ran 1.54s maybe a 1.53 from one of them. I have the sheets somewhere. Then q2 I couldn't get my car on the track cause of a off road excursion during q1 that got a lot of gravel in between my wheels and tires and had to get them out. On q2 both teams pulled 1.52s so this look like it would be a good battle. I had the car ready for ta1 and on the warm up lap my brakes wernt working right so I came in. The SM eg got a dnf from a blown motor and I belive il4 ran a 1.53. It was getting close to the ta2 session and I sourced a brakebooster check valve off another ep3, mine had melted and was sticking shut. I got the car finished just intime to grid. The car ran strong but I only managed to pull a 1.53 and il4 got the win with a 1.51.

I'm currently reworking my enginebay set up and suspension and I feel good about Fontana next month as this is a high speed track and what the EP chassis lacks in the turns I will make up in the straights.

It melted by the collector flange, it's not that close it's just so hot. Your car will never reach those temps on the street or drag race, mine never has. We are also building a heat shield to protect bmc bb cmc eps, and I might wrap the manifold. I melted the brake booster check valve too, hell it even melted paint:meek:

I don't see what a cf hood has to do with anything, cause of like "mugen" vents or something? Still won't vent like this, this is better than a cowl hood on a old muscle car. Its about a 6in vent all the way across the hood. I have more plans to make this look better too.

No, everywhere I've read and the tire store I bought them from says it's a waste to shave them. I bought them from sierra tire and they shave tires.

damn thats crazy what it did to the plastic cowl... when i was boosted I took off the rubber seal on the cowl and that helped releasing most of the heat. I wasnt road racing either so thats something for me to keep in mind when I start tracking her.

It looks good though.... now you can put 2in spacers on the rear part of the hood now, help create some down force on the front end. just a thought haha

Thanks, it's not something I want to do a diy for if you know how to wire and have patience you should be able to figure something out. Before you start, look at every engine and accessory harness wire and be sure you are ready to cut and rewire every single one. Maybe next winter I'll make some tuck harnesses to sale.

See I am currently running a stock K24a1 and have the rev limit set to 7k... I am sure there would be no reason for me to up it, but I dont want to make the block go pop. I would definately need to do some modifications to the oil pump...

I am looking to make at least 450 but with a mild block build and a2 head. I am sure I could make more but whats the point in a daily ya know?

Not much, the car started running like crap right when I switched to the 30r and it took awhile to figure out.
Oil got in the map sensor, so now I vented Pcv to atmosphere.
So now it's tuned great on the 30r running 20psi.
Right now I'm wrapping my manifold and I cut the front of my bumper out for the ic a few months ago.

Awesome work and way to use a car that has been built. I see so many good cars that are "built" for the track just hard park. I started building one of my civics for time attack and scca racing, but stopped due to lack of money at the time. I just road race someone else's vw (I know sad) for the time being. Not Sure how his has been. I went through 2 in 10,000 miles, but then I changed to the omni and have had 0 issues.....You can change them in about 15 min with the driver tire off so no big deal. My disk splines stripped outafter 10k also but competition said all high horespower k's do it......? Althought they did send me new disk for free. They also said it could have been due to daily driving because my pads still looked new and there is chatter? Who knows but the new disk have held up great so far and they are cheap to replace. Ok no more thread jacking....Guardian u liking yours?

I really don't know yet, last time attack 2 weeks ago, i was only on the track for like 2 sessions learning the track and still didn't get into it when 4th went. I still ran a 2.49 and the record in my class is a 2.34, I was going to smash that.

I also changed my alignment at the same time, so that made it hard to judge.

Thanks, I only got 2 runs both 11.26 @128. Cause of weather they only did 2 qualifying passes instead of 3. I got dropped from top 16, slowest car in top 16 ran like 10.5. I might be going back to the track on Wednesday for a test & tune and get a bunch of passes to try to get it in 10s.

what hp are you running?? I know when your lapping it you detune it a bit... Also what size slicks are you running?

do you ever have overheating problems on lapping days?
i did my first track lapping day today and overheated every session... has never happened in autocrosses or short time attacks, but after a few laps its above 208.

No, ect was good but engine bay temp was hot. Everything was melting, I even melted the cowl over the window wipers. After I removed the cowl and cut my bumper ect and engine bay temp have gone way down.

I've already talked to ppg, when I talked to them they already filled their spots and he told me to contact him at the end of the year. He was still going to give me a discount on what I wanted but was still to much.

Mfactory doesn't seem to care about k-series and I've talked to another company that doesn't have faith in their gears for TA.

yeah, it could be the wheel colour. But i think most of it is becase the tires are more square than before, not so bulgy. Now it looks like a 225/45-17" on a 8" wheel, not a bad thing IMO :) noticed any better steering response?

Whats going on G, i had a quick question about the CompClutch twin disc you are using... When you installed the twin disk did you also intall a clutch pedal stopper, so it wouldnt over throw the twin disk?

Yes, take out the clutch switch and put a bolt and a nut to lock it at the length you need in there.
If you havnt, bypass the switch so u can start your car, clutchless, u should anyways.

Im running e85 now, im going to do a return soon then dyno tune. One tune for road racing and to save the transmission, high 300s. Then a tune to max out this turbo and drag racing. It will be over 500whp, nothing crazy. I'm going to buy a seat soon, probably RaceTech. My new suspension should be ready soon.

I have pulled all of my radio stuff. Im about to do some work on my harness inside the car, pull all the srs stuff. loose more weight and sand the inside to paint, just base coat, no clear. also a friend and i are going to make a surge tank.

The cars at 2399 with a full tank of gas, i run full or close to it cause it will cut from fuel slosh. After we make the tank il be able to run very little gas, the full tank is heavy as hell. plus all of that radio shit, srs stuff gone and a race seat i think it will be low 22xx or less. then i have to start cleaning all of that tar crap off the bottom of the car.:shrug:

I received my new coilover's from AMR Engineering and I am highly impressed with these.
The build quality is superior than my old RSD's. The lower spring perch is awesome on these, it is a lot easier to use then the 2 locking perch set ups. These coilover are built to order and to the specs you need, you can pick you spring rates and they will be valved for them. For the rear springs i need a higher spring rate that is offered from AMR, so i am going with another brand for all 4 springs. AMR uses Hyperco springs and are offered up to a 1450lbs/in spring, thats 25K! So pretty much everyone will be good with their springs. After i drive and race with them ill have some good feedback.

No, the R888's hook pretty good, I do want to go wider on the next set though. I think it makes up for what my car was lacking in corners. 3rd still would get a little loose but I would keep it in check and 4ths fine. I try to avoid going to 2nd. That's also why I switched to the 30r, to spool faster so I don't need to go down a gear, mainly 2nd.

I have a few track videos from the stands, I'll try to put something together.

I've been getting the car ready for track days with a local performance shop and see what goes from there racing wise. Already removed the entire interior other than the door panels and dash "which I have removed the airbag and a/c ducting" and I'm currently working on getting that devil sound deadener off of the floor pans and new bucket seats and steering wheel going in soon hopefully. ABS is next to be removed so I'll have a couple lights on in my "street car"
