FYI you gonna get alot of HATE for tryin to go hellaflush but like I always say, fuck them
its your car and if you like it go for it....

anyways check out nyquil's blue ep3 I think his offset was 17x8 +14 and 17x9 +14 rears
He was the first ep owner that I have seen that was able to pull it off nicely without having that mexipoke in the fronts

there are other offsets that you can go with as well to get a flushed look

ccw has a ep3 that is on 18x9.5's in a +15 offset front and back the guy that works there is getting me a pic, just waiting on it and i will post up later on

ShadowEP3

ill say anything from +30 down

i have the offset to go hellaflush (+20)..but i cant right now cuz of the tires

MadLorEP3
04-06-2010, 12:28 PM
REally when did this happen? I wanna c as well....

My ccw's are 18x9.5 +19 and 18x9 +25

I think Castroys ccw's are 17x9.5 +22 and 17x9 +16

There is only one other person I know with an ep3 that has a ccw or was planning on getting them and I think it might be the same person that you are referring to but I could be wrong

I know Jerry mentioned having them as well in the past but I think he sold them....

anyways CCW ftw

MadLorEP3

oh yeah, lastly
if you decide to go through with it please make sure that the fronts are flush as well
Ive seen a few ep that are flush in the rear but have a mexipoke lowrider style in the front and it just looks tacky but thats just my opinion

its your ep do wahtever floats your boat

off set all depends on how wide the wheel is.

I'm running 15x7.5 with +32 offset and my wheels fit pretty flush. They are a static stance though. I mainly wanted a wider wheel for more grip and cuz a 6.5" wide wheel on our car just looks way to small.

tis EXACTLY how i feel.. i loath the hellawack/stance movement aka what vdub owners have been doing for years.. esp the part where people swear that there isn't a safety hazard in stretching tires..

I have no problem with VW guys doing it since the entire thing is based off what people have been doing with the bugs since day one, unless you did something crazy, they werent fast, so the next best thing was doing something that looked cool, so you get this...i think its a great tradition with VWs anyway...that said, i have no problem with anyone doing it to any car...do what you want its your car, if you are happy then I am happy for you...even if that includes a big wing, graphics and a ridiculous body kit.

I just felt the first post in this thread was kinda funny in how he was asking for help...

that said, my advice on this would be run a low offset (ive always thought the +15 looked decent without being rediculous)...I also wouldnt run too wide of a wheel on the car, strictly because thats going to cause a lot of nasty wear and tear on your axles hubs and bearings...i say this because we are seeing some NASTY wear and tear in the racing world right now with my old 84-87 civics and crxs. Guys are running low offset WIDE wheels, and i am talking wider wheels than the hellaflush or hard parkers are running (of course we are racing and need the grip). The problems we are running into is with the high cornering forces we are seeing detrimental wear on the hubs which is only allowing us to run 8-10 races (which comes out to an average regional scca season) before we can no longer safely trust the hubs and they must be replaced...we arent even getting the opportunity to replace the bearings before the hubs go bad...

on a side note we have exhausted the OEM honda supply of hubs in the US, so right now I am working with an indy racing/open wheeled fabrication company (they do suspension, brakes, hubs, axles, transmissions, and chassis' for basically all forms of open wheeled racing) right now to make our 84-87 civic/crx community racing hubs...i'm pretty excited about it!!

ANYWAY...sooo like i said, i wouldnt go too wide on the wheel, at most an 8" wide wheel, maybe even a 7"...what you really want aesthetically is that visual filling of the wheel well and the sticking the tires out a little bit...i assume you will be slammed, so seeing tire width under the car won't be a big issue...PLUS what you can do at that point is run a wider tire, like a 225 on a wheel that can receive it properly without major stretching, which can become a hazard if you ever roll the bead under cornering and have a blowout which will ruin your day. Another thing to consider if you go too wide is rubbing in the fender well in the front under turning.

also remember you will need to be rolling your rear fender and possibly pulling it as well...

One last thing i will note is that you may just end up needing to go with some stretched rubber if you are too low just so the tire itself clears the fenders, but personally i think making a big meaty tire fit that isnt stretched to death on some wide offset wheels with the car slammed, looks a lot cooler than stretched rubber.

But I digress. I'd recommend taking the time to do some homework here on the forums regarding what size would suit you.

You really need to relax bud. Hella flush is the only way to go. If i was the op id throw some s2k wheels on my car and go for that hella flush look........... Highest offset available baby!

to the OP, take a look at guardian and SHGeasy cars, they are winners when it comes to eps with stance IMO. and they cars seems to work pretty good to.. no point in having a car that cant go anywhere -fast-

If you stretch your tires but don't mess with the + or - do you still have as much ware on the tire as you would with + or -? I wanna strech my tires and just have it on a flush stance, no negative or positive chamber tho

Well if you have the correct size and offset wheels you wouldn't have to stretch the tires. But to answer your question No. There shouldn't be any more wear on a tire if its flat to the surface of the road like a normal tire would be even though its stretched. Now depending on how stretched the tire is it will have a little more stress on the sidewalls but nothing to worry about. People drive on stretched tires all the time.

Like you guys, I just don't get it......why rock wheels that don't fit your car if you aren't going to put bigger tires on?

All these examples and talk about hella flush is making my sides hurt... I think it looks good and actually can serve a small purpose on rear wheel drive cars where the rear offset can is good to be wider than the front. Although all together I think that it is a waste of money on tires...

With that said... each is to his own car...

I do think that the ep has a good rear fender size and pop to run a stagered set of wheels to run a slighty bigger (hella flush) offset...

02TWSI
02-04-2011, 01:11 AM
In my opinion the EP is the perfect car to run "reverse stagger" (LMFAO at the concept...)

Would I ever do it? No, because my car's goal isn't to be a show hoe.....but the lines of the car are very accepting of it.
