When I get my 2003 SI, I'm going to put on an AEM short ram intake. With the short ram, obviously the filter is right by the engine, so what I wanna know is does AEM or anyone make a heatshield that'll fit my car.

Why not save up a little more for the CAI?

Injen has a shield, but I'd also say just get a CAI.

I'm not going with the CAI, because where I'm from we get our fair share of snow and rain. I know they have that bypass valve, but thats not a 100% full-proof. For me, the extra 1 to 3hp you get with the CAI over the short ram just doesn't weigh up against the safety of your engine, especially on a brand new car. I'll get the same sound and throttle response that jerks your head back when you hit the gas. Anyway, I was looking in october issue of Sportcompact car and I saw at www.rtec-usa.com they have heat shileds but I went to the site and didn't see them anywhere. If any of you are familiar with this site, please let me know if you see them....

Call them if it's not on their site.

Here's the part number for Injen.

Went back to the site sober, and I found the heat shield. I emailed them and asked if it would fit the AEM short ram intake. From what I see, it should have no problem fitting but I just wanna make sure. Hopefully they'll get back to me tomorrow.

Called them up about the rtec heat shield, and its only $25. It's a universal fit, so it'll fit pretty much all the popular intake filters out there.
