Hey fellow ephatchers,

A friend of mine recently developed shift lever springs (MTEC Ind. (http://www.MTECInd.com)) for K-series manual transmissions and asked that I share my experience with them.

I’ve always felt that the shifter had too much play in its lateral movement. With the MTEC springs installed, there is a significant difference in feel from the stock springs. The springs have a higher spring rate and provide more resistance in the shifter’s lateral movement. Compared to the stock springs, shifts are firm and direct.

Installation of the springs was simple. Total time of install was roughly 30 minutes with common garage tools.

Overall, the MTEC springs provide better response and feel in gear shifts for daily or spirited driving.

If you're interested you can find more info out by visiting: http://www.MTECInd.com

Other installed accessories

Didn't see this thread but I bought the sport version of this spring and HR Shifter Bushings from crsx yesterday. I'll see how it feels in the 5 spd and in a few weeks a 6 spd, haha.

I didn't like them so I took them out and sold them. I had the sport version, 2nd to 3rd was sloppy and sometimes it would miss. Right when I took them out it went back to normal so it was the springs causing the problem

Hello, thought I'd let you guys know that they have made a full shift kit for the ep3 similar to the one they make for the RSX replacing the white pivot ball with an aluminium one, also other parts are changed. Please contact mtec for more information :)

do you have a link to the ep3 shift kit?
i went to the mtec website and found nothing ep3 related.

edit: i found the spring install instructions...... i would be alittle intimidated to get into that.....even though it looks like a nice mod.

It's not the shift springs, it's like the shift kit they do for the rsx with the two halves of the pivot ball. It's not on the website yet as they need at least 20 confirmed before he goes ahead and makes them. This has already gone through prototyping so they just need the numbers. You can contact mtec directly or I am trying to get a group buy going on civictyperowners.co.uk you are welcome to join.

I have the BCSS, aluminum base bushings and aluminum cable bushings. I am having the common problem of not getting CENTERED back to N. Will theses MTEC Race springs fix that? I've heard that the white caps from the BCSS need to be switched back to the ones from the stock shifter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ep3 fam...
