With this absolutely fantastic weather I finally got off my lazy ass and started to do a valve lash. The IPS K2's are in fantastic shape with 160K miles on them. Just a quick check shows the lash has opened up to about .009"-.010" from .008" in about three years time, seems to be a uniform wear pattern. The plugs look ok, worn and ready for replacement. I will post some pics up in the morning. Went out and grabbed one of the plugs and took a pic.

Here is a pic of the cam lobes,

I decided to swap out the TCT and installed the RAZ modified TCT I had. The TODA TCT I had installed when I did my original cam install, I reused it when I replaced the timing chain 2 years ago.

Thats some awsome Build Quality. Everything looks good for that many miles! I found with my stock Cams, that i had to do the lash a little tighter because after a few warm up/Cool down cylces it would losen up .02 in the exhaust and .02 on the intake. That was enough to make some Noise.

LOL I went to grab a pack of plugs off the shelf, and one 4pack of plugs were actually used ones, the next pack only had 3 plugs in it, I checked the IK22 pack and they also had only 3 plugs,,,,,phyuck!!!!!!!!!

I'll let you know when i figure it out.....I can't get the pulley off my A3 and it's on an engine stand. not even the 650 ft Lb Impact gets it off.

I use a 3/4" breaker bar and a 3-4' piece of pipe.

Whatever else I can say about IPS (and god knows both of us can say plenty) the products they actually do produce are top knotch.

Dam that's a lot of miles. But the cams look great.

Did you use the modified TCT because you're running aftermarket cams? Any reason to run anything other than OEM TCT with OEM cams (TSX)?

As the timing chain stretchs over time, the TCT's piston extends out of the body and the spring pressure is reduced greatly with each click out, at higher rpm's the oil pressure counters this, but at idle the oil pressure isnt high enough and you get chain slap at the TCT. Bigger cam lift/duration along with stronger valve springs accentuate this.
