I have Konig Rated R's 16x7. I can't find the specific offset. I found some info listing all sizes of the Rated R's (from 15" to 17") as +38 to +40 mm.

Will 225/55/16's rub in that offset range?

id imagine they would in the rear without some camber and fender rolling

225 55 will look nasty, try to find a 45 or 50 if you have to.

x2.. although i;d go with the 50 series.. more tire choices and they usually run cheaper then their 45 series compadres.

i had 205/45 last year and the ride was way too rough for my aging back. I thought I'd go pretty high on the aspect ratio this time to cushion my behind some this summer.

the 45 in 205/45 and the 45 in 225/45 are completely different sizes.. it's a ratio, not a set height..

right, the 225 45 will have a thicker side wall, a 225 55 will look like a truck tire

I don't think there will be that much a difference between these sizes. . I'm talking about feeling not look.

according to the miata.net tire size calculator:
205/45/16 = sidewall 3.6 in
225/45/16 = sidewall 4.0 in
225/50/16 = sidewall 4.4 in
225/55/16 = sidewall 4.9 in

I'm probably going to go the 50.

The 225 45 is almost a in bigger in dia. Than the 205, I think you will be fine. I've ran a 225 50 16, I would have rather had a 45. the tire I wanted only came in the 225 50, but the tire sucked ass anyway.. Rt615
