we were leaving the field party this morning, and cindy led out, in my car. I was pulling the trailer, so I was back a little bit. she calls, frantic, saying she hit something. I figured it was a dog or something. she swerved to avoid a fuckin coyote, took the ditch, and took not 1, but 2 road signs. the bumper, lip, and grill are toast, along with the headlight, fender, wheel liner, hood, and windshield. the bumper cover ripped the waterneck off the radiator, ripped the hoses off the coolant tank and the condenser is bent. the first sign pancaked the a-post. the second one gashed the a-post and slapped the roof resulting in a washboard look. it slapped the roof so hard, it knocked the rear dome light lens out. the frame horn is tweaked, and the bottom of the core support is pushed back. I doubt they'll fix it, mainly due to the a-post and the roof. I'm just glad she is ok. when the front dug in, she coulda went over. also, one of the posts hit the gas tank, but luckily it wasn't able to puncture or grab it.

Dang, Sorry man! I know it is too late to say this but to other ephatchers.. our car is pretty tough against animals.. I hit an adult german shepherd on the highway and my bumper just got a dent in it and that was all.. its not worth it to try to avoid animals.. it may seem heartless but it keeps you alive.

This scenerio could have been a lot worse.Glad everybody is fine.

^^ i only swerve for deer.. but damn, that sucks man, glad everyone is ok. hope everything works out.

its not like anyone would have noticed if the coyote population had been reduced by 1. granddaddy told us to come coyote hunting, whenever we want to. :D

Everybody says not to swerve for animals, but it's instinct to swerve. Like you said, at least she kept the shiny side up and didn't get hurt.

thanks yall. her safety is the most important thing. I have been upset, but surprisingly, I haven't "lost it" yet. I have an appointment tomorrow to find out if its fixable or not. she killed my car, and left for the beach... I'm going to start hosting coyote hunting expeditions in Allsboro, Al. so if anyone wants to kill a coyote, call me! I have vengence to enact...

Wes, for what it's worth, I was super sad when my EP was totaled, but in the end, it was one of the better things that happened to me. I know you like your EP more than I liked mine, but, I think in retrospect, you'll be happy down the road.

It's never the way you want the 'relationship' with the car to end, but on the other hand, it beats selling the car for less than what you've put into it & then seeing some tool fuck it up.

Good luck with whatever happens next.

Damn!!!! Glad that she is ok! Sorry to hear that, My only opinion is Part the crap out of it! Get yourself another one, I've seen quite a bit of cheap ones for under 5$K with like 60K on it 02-03 and i think one 04 People getting rid of them, Check Craigslist d=-) Just tryna help! Sorry about the ep! I'll get some coyotes out here! For you! I live next to hill, I think they killed our cat this past week too! So double the blastin! Damn overgrown rats!

it looks like I'm gonna buy an 05 Legacy GT from Dobbs02Si. its more practical for the family, yet it seems to be a fun car.

everything is off of it except the wheels and suspension. I should have pics and a part out sale thread tomorrow. my den looks like the EP just threw up...

The truth. The only thing arguable is "looks" and the Legacy imo looks alot better. The legacy has more power, handles better, and rides nicer... Cars come and go. It sucks yes but since everybody was okay and you get some change from it. It's a good day and upgrade time.
