OK, I need some new input.

There is a LOT of choosing to do and I thought someone might have looked at this already.

I'm seeking a DD NAV unit that has

- SD or USB interface
- good RELIABILITY (read bad things about some models crapping out)
- good audio features (sound, tuneablity, etc.)

I DONT need DVD/movies
I DONT need BT

SO are you going to run an amp? You said that you wanted good sound so I would assume so. If thats the case look for units with a strong preamp output voltage like the AVIC series. If you are not running an amp then sound quality is really not all that different from any major brand. The Alpine units also offer their "Imprint" audio setup technology for an additional price. As for the dvd and bluetooth, most have them now anyway so its kind of irrelevant. Some older units on ebay, like the f700 are cd only, but most will include dvd. How into sound are you anyway? Is this going to be a crappy sony X-plode setup, a mid-level JL setup or an audiophile level Tru technology/zapco setup? These things will also effect your decision. As for the quality of the units any Pioneer, Alpine or Kenwood should do fine. I like the Pioneer overall.
