can you listen to the radio/cd/ipod and use the navi at the same time? ive heard of some not being able to do so. like you cant have the navi running whilst using the other audio features. i know some of the OLD ones that required a navi dvd to be in the player to use navi had this issue.

Yes. you can do pretty much anything while the navi is running. even talk on the phone.

I absolutely love my F90bt! I installed a mod, I forget the name, but it was one of the more popular before the guy 'retired' from modding HU's. I'm currently browsing for a new knob, I know theres a guy on avic411 who makes them out of billet for $20.

Although glory, I like my splash screen better :mwink:....

Standard harness is needed, nothing crazy there. You'd want to ground your handbrake wire so you can watch movies while driving. Other than that, buy a Metra kit and your straight.

the unit isnt coming with the ipod cable, can i just use an apple white sync cable? or does it need to be a pioneer one?

i'd recommend getting the pioneer one...you'll be missing out on a lot of built in features if you don't.

it'll run fine without it. it has all of the hook up for external video, backup camera, sub, etc.

..only problem for me is. whenever i listen to my ipod(through the pioneer adapter).

Sometimes all of the audio runs to one speaker..I know its weird

but when i switch to fm am or disc its goes through all of the channels

this began to happen recently coincidentally when i started running my AC(I usually never use it)

Any thoughts?

I've had this problem intermitently. I've found out the problem was coming from a loose connection at the RCA input plug for the ipod cable. A little electrical tape fixed that.

I kinda wish they would've implemented the plug into the unit like the avic d3 where the ipod plug actually plugged into the unit itself, rather than those rca's, but hey what can you do?

My fb900 does it too. I think its just my ipod though. Because my ipod does it in everything.

the only gripe i have with my unit is the ipod. I purposefully bought a 16gb ipod nano that had a broken screen backlight with intentions of using it as a permanent juke box in my car. It works great but the problem is sometimes when I get in the car the avic will default to the off position (even if it was already on when I shut the car off). I can turn the unit back on as normal but in order for it to recognize that the ipod is there I have to unplug the ipod and plug it back in.

its weird and I'm kinda used to it now but its still kinda annoying sometimes.

You might need to update the Avic firmware, Ed. Mine did that EVERY time, and often randomly while playing. The update fixed that. It depends on how old your unit is; I got mine a year ago this past March. The update also fixed a lot of other glitches, too, like startup time and screen response.

I have to do the same. Gets kind of old. Especially when your driving.


And I have looked into updating it before. I remember it being too much work for me to do during school. But ill have to look into again.
