just got my baby home. started the break down process. im planning on boosting... alot. so im going in to replace the rods and pistons, then going to move up and hopefully rebuild the head, springs, valves, retainers, and port port & polish. Deff will keep a steady update on how everything is going. btw all maintenance is being done in my room. so we will see what challenges await.

Cool pick-up! Don't feel bad, I'm sure those of us without garages do this more often then we admit.:mangel:

When I was in the Navy, a few of us with motorcycles got together and rented a house. We kept the bikes in the dining room on plywood and did all our work and maintenance there. The carpet was ruined by the time we moved out! LOL

CONGRAT's on the K24A2!

UMMMMM K24a2. Nice, now get yourself a engine stand and make things easier on you. It might save your carpet a little. Here is a link: http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=motor+stand&Submit=Go

Congrats on picking up that little jewel

so why the rebuild with a low target on horsepower. Stock it can take 400+

Congrats on the motor purchase. I have a k24 sitting as well. Just waiting to have the available cash to build it properly.

psh engine stands are for quitters. i work on this thing in my lap. ha ha. tear down is coming along nice. the oil pan was a b***ch to get off. but now im working my way up to pulling the crank. shooting for lower numbers so i get really happy when i hit big with it. im going to take the ep out later and race a friend with a rsx-s so i can get a base for where my cars at. see how bad he kicks my butt. still in the market for a kpro so if some one has one and is looking to part with it lemme know.

I'm about an hour south of you here in NC, as far as 757 the guy you want to talk to is BA82EP3 but good luck getting a hold of him best just hit him up in on pm... Oh and 03Si757. I'm sure both of them did K24 swaps. I never did a swap so i'm not much of a help, but I'm happy to come up and looked confused or do beer runs..lol

And gratz.. on the K24

heck ya, i will definitely have to hit them up. and I hauled the whole motor home in the back of my buddy's jeep. but picked the block up in the ep. rode in the passenger seat!! and the original plan was to turbo. but i'm still toying with the idea of going N/A with a stroker kit and high compression pistons. we will see though. this will be my first swap too so it will help out a lot if i could find someone that knows what there doing.

Might be a simple question, but what vehicle did you get the k24a2 out of ? And what trans did it have? a 6spd? Thanks

Just curious why such a low hp target? I can achieve that with a a3 block with a z1 head on about 10psi o.O

not just 6 k and above. the idle with stage 3 cams sounds mean too. and ill be sure to keep an up-to-date thread going. its gunna be a while till more parts come in now. im gunna save up for an ERL stroker kit. but after that the build should pick up pretty fast.
