Hey guys, bout time for some new bologna and I was wondering if I could try a different tire size. Currently I'm riding on 225/45 BFG's with a 17x8 wheel and a +35 offset. I've rolled the rears and occasionally if I have some extra weight in the car it will rub SLIGHTLY on larger bumps or dips. Otherwise its all good.

Would I be safe in assuming a 235/40 will fit with similar results? Thanks in advance.

the tire itself will be shorter but also a tad wider. with that said, guardian and hondafreak run 235/40-17's on their 17x8 +35 wheels and with the rears rolled they clear just fine. and mine clear with the same set up but with a +38 offset. :mcool:

Well. There a lot of thing you have to look at it. First, yes more clear from your tires to the car and a bit less weight. On the other hand, the speed of your car will be wrong and will be higher than what is actually speed which you will have more miles. Either way, I always use this link to see if I should change the size of my tires. http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp Best site if you just change from one set of tires to another or rims compare to oem stock tires and rims.

yea, but i'm coo with ~2mph difference. i have this size for performance. for a 235 width it's either a 40 series or a 45 series, and the tire options are superior in the 40 series. performance-wise of course. :mwink:

I'm running 235/40/17 on a 7.5" wheel +38 offset I think, and with some minor rolling of the rear fenders have no issues.
