Head Light Switch Replacement

Anybody have issues with theirs? I found a replacement for about $50 shipped, easy to install?

A mechanic checked it out and told me the switch/wiring is over heated or loose and needs to be replaced eventually. As of right now the low beam does not work, high beam does. I have a 2003 Ep3, noticed the 2002 models have a recall for it but no other years.

apparently there's a part number for the recall kit itself. i stumbled upon it here before the epic crash. i haven't found it since and it wasn't stickied either. as of right now i have no low beams or high beams. the problem is with the red wire as its too high of a gauge to handle the current. my temporary solution was to clean the contact points but even then the problem still occurs.

The actual chassis wiring is too small, this damages the switch and the wires.

The combo switch is easy to replace.
