Well, the plan this weekend is to paint my CAI black or gunmetal (not sure what color just yet).

I'll also document the COMPLETE install to add to my site as well as what I'm doing to paint the CAI.

I hope to be able to get my "H"s done as well. We'll see how much time I have.

that sounds like a good idea.. i'd wanna do that too.. to keep my engine bay looking subtle.. but wont' the dark color attract more heat?? im not sure.

Dark color attracts sunlight (UV Rays), not heat. Otherwise the stock air box would be an oven.

Sunlight=heat...so yes, but no because there is a hood in the way.

I'm going to cover my intake with some type of insulation to keep it cooler.

While your statement is "basically" true, since he was referring to engine heat, it doesn't really apply. (Not unless you have a chunk of the sun under the hood.

;)

High temp engine enamel.

I'll wet sand it first to give paint something to hold on to. Then I'll lay down a few coats for protection and finish.

is engine enamel pretty durable? its not going to chip or flake is it?

With proper preperation, even the crappiest paints stay on. As long as I sand it down and make sure it's clean as hell, it'll be fine. If it rubs on some metal, I don't expect it to stay on, but in normal use, it'll be fine.
