I'm swapping a K24A1 into my EP3 and I'm trying to decide on a turbo manifold. I'm not looking for a ton of power (325-350whp) so I'm going to run a tubular log manifold. I'd just like to trap 110-115mph in the 1/4 mile. If I have the funds after the turbo setup/tune then I will buy a Wave trac diff.

I will be pulling my JRSC, pulley assembly, and 440cc injectors off since I'm going to be running a ported intake mani, larger tb, and 750cc injectors.

What maniold of the three is better built? I'm not worried about them cracking as one they do I can have it rewelded and will never have to worring about it again unless I bought a ebay tubular :tehe:

P2R Log Manifold:

Blox Log Manifold:

http://thmotorsports.com/blox_racing/blox_turbo_manifold/g-51939.aspx

Revhard Tubular Log - Also I've read some on this supplier (Race Specialists) and they have horrid customer service so I won't deal with them. Does anyone know of anyone else who sells the Revhard Turbo Manifold?

http://racespecialists.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

Thanks to anyone who checks this thread and give their .02 cents. Cheers,

Joshua Tuck

Also there is a turbonetics log manifold but I dont like the placement of the wastegate. Seems like that mani would be a creep monster!

Turbonetics Exhaust Manifold:

************************************************** *************************

I forgot that I should add more information as far as my setup is concerned.

? Turbo Manifold
GT3071R .63 A/R
Largest wastegate the manifold will take (Tial 38mm/44mm)
Treadstone FMIC with custom 2.5' piping
Oil Return Lines etc
750cc Injectors
Kpro
Hondata 4 bar MAP
Innovatice DB Gauge with LC1 Wideband
Boost Gauge
3' Custom DP
3' Full exhuast
Looking to run between 10-14lbs
If power goals arent reached a Methanol System will be added

Sorry for being so vauge but all I can do right now. I'll be running a Comp Stage 4 Clutch with the 5spd tranny and, funds willing, a Wavetrac LSD.

Then it will be time for exterior/interior mods! Thanks!

most of those mani's that you posted are for b-series... the only one for a K that you posted was the p2r mani. But there are a couple of log style mani's. Rev hard log style, Inline pro log style, obx "cybernation" replica, and ebay log mani which is the same as the revhard. They all take 38mm waste gates.

I got drunk and ordered the ebay log manifold friday night. I hope to have my budget set-up running by augast and will give you some feedback.

Well I know Revhard makes K series kits and I just wanted to buy their K series manifold I just don't know where I can buy the manifold.

Where I can find the inline pro manifold? How is the quality of the OBX "CN" replica?

Thanks for the reply man!

You have a link to the manifold you bought? I'm afraid to buy the ebay manifolds due to shitty fitment hence me wanting the Rev Hard of P2R manis.

Thats the one i ordered. It appears to be a replica of the revhard manifold.

Gotcha, well let me know how fitment is. When are you planning on turboing your car?

I probally won't be installing parts till Augast. The manifold is the first piece I've bought and as money comes in I'll be buying more pieces till i have everything i need. I'm looking for a used turbo, wastgate and bov, then I'll upgrade to full kpro and get an ebay intercooler and piping kit. I'll be running low (8-10psi) boost as the ep will still be my daily. Shooting for 300whp.

Good luck with your build dude, I bet 350whp is very attainable for ya! Especially with that big block haha.

Thanks 04bluepearl, I'm going to have the swap done first at Motorvations and I'm having him put the car back near stock with the K24A1. The only mods it will have is a Kpro, JRRH, full exhuast, and a CAI. I'm going to sell the JRSC kit with the 440cc injectors which will pay for the turbo I want to run and maybe one other small part. I'll be buying the manifold, wastegate, intercooler, piping, and bov while the swap is being done.

I'd have Jim do it but there are a few parts that need to be fabbed and I'd rather handle that myself to try and save some cash so I "hopefully" afford an LSD! hahaha

Yeah I'm pretty confident in reaching my power goal. The car should make good torque and spool fast as hell!!! I just need to figure out what dual stage boost controller I'm going to run, haha.

Is that an ebay brand? I did a quick google search and came back with nothing.

Your build sounds pretty badass. Do you know what turbo you want to run yet?

looks good, dont mean to thread jack but do you guys know anything about the turbo hitting the firewall when accelerating or shifting gears im in the proccese of looking for a manifold and my friend with a rsx said his turbo would hit the firewall when he shifted or accelerated

That sounds simmiler to the same problem guys run into with running a dc race header with stock motor mounts. Throw in a set of stiff ass motor mounts and you won't have to worry about the turbo hitting the firewall.

it might hit the shroud with the stock mounts.. motor mount inserts will be fine.. or just get solid mounts..

cool thanks for the info with a log style manifold can you fit a gt35r or a sc61 for future reference if you want to upgrade in the future?

Yeah, I'm going to run a GT3071/3076R, both DBB. I'm looking for quick spool with hard hitting power, haha.

You prob could although you may have fitment issues with the larger turbo. If your going with a big turbo you might as well pick up the Fab Worx sidewinder manifold (its cheaper and has better welds than peakboosts manifold. A log manifold will cause you lose power with larger turbos and higher boost levels. It become the choke point in the system.

Personally I'd say for anything under 450whp a tubular log manifold will do fine aslong as you pick a well matched turbo.

For anything over 450whp I would say to look at the sidewinder manifolds from Fab Worx, Peakboost, and Full Race.

Remember this is my personal opinion as some people have make good power on both type of manis at high/low boost. The point when you turbo your car is to make sure all the parts compliment each other. Think of it like a guy who is making 300whp but run large diameter IC piping with a giant FMIC. That would cause him to spool lower and make less power through the powerband than if he had the proper piping size and a smaller but more efficent fmic for his turbos size.

Sorry for the book, I've owned a few FDs and few other 400+whp pump gas cars. Its better to plan your setup based on what you have and what your goals are then to just buy a Full Race kit with a t67, haha

Good advice. I'd say go with the solid billet mounts (60A) over the inserts. I just view the insert as a band aid as they caused my motor mounts to wear out fast. You get what you pay for, most of the time anyways.

you can actually find alot of FI parts in the clubrsx market place. There is someone always selling a revhard mani or ebay log mani. I had the ebay log mani before and fitment was great, but I just ordered another ebay log mani about two weeks ago and this one had bad pits in it. So it was unusable and now a big paper weight haha. As for the obx i havent ran one or heard of someone running one but there just like the cybernation mani's. So I know they will make power but not sure on the quality of it.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to go with the k series tubular log manifold from TBA. Ill post a link it later. I just don't want to buy a manifold that will crack a few months down the road or worse and break (seems the china manifold are great at this). Esp since I will be running the car pretty hard.

I'm also planning on sending the manifold and turbo exhaust housing off to Swain Tech for their thermal coatings to drop underhood temps. Ill be sure to keep you guys posted on my build.

If I had know about the p2r I would have used that on my first setup instead of the CN, still no complaints. Im very partial to the reliabilitly of stainless..

I have had a K24A1 in my EP3 with Rev hard manifold for about 3 years. I use a 57 trim turbo. No you will NOT hit the firewall with that turbo. I made a custom 3" downpipe which was pretty simple.

at about 9-12 psi I had 278trq 280hp with the 2.5" exhaust. Not much more with the 3". @ 14psi you MIGHT get to 300whp. I boosted 16 a few times. I can get you a good map. I tuned mine so many times for each season and temp. Let me know.
