inverted tie rods( havent seen this question)

out of curiosity, someone mentioned this to me and i thought i would bring it up. why cant we just rotate our stock tierods and "invert" them? i dont understand why it doesnt/ wouldnt work. someone want to shed some light on this for me.

The tie rod ends are tapered, they will not install inverted.
