Well with close to 300K miles on the chassis, the CMC has finally re-developed the CMC pushrod click!

It first appeared with only 40-50K miles on her. I started to apply some grease at the pushrod/piston cup joint at every oil change and the click disappeared. It appears to finally be time to replace the CMC.

talon have you had to replace the slave ever? or is that still original as well?

man you are proving these ep3s are just as durable into the high mileage ranges as the first Si hatches in 86/87 (with proper maintenance of course)

I tried a ACT clutch for about 200 miles and it was the worse piece of shyt ever to be produced(before I discovered the washer trick), ran a Centerforce for about 40K miles, and then the CM FX400 6 disc sprung hub.

I think that I had tried a new slave during the ACT clutch debacle when I first did the A2 swap, but put the original back in when I installed the Centerforce clutch 200 Miles later, so it is the original slave as well.

I think the FX400 clutch could be on it's way out as well, if it does I have a FX300 to go in, along with a heavier StreetLite fly. I will probably use the EX CMC.

whats the difference on the EX CMC? and whats the weight on that streetlite flywheel? im thinking of doing a lightened flywheel when i swap but i do not want to go too light as it is a street car

Yeah this double post thing is a real pain in the arse!

The EX doesnt have the extra chamber that blows out when used with a heavy spring pressure plate. The StreetLite fly is 11lbs, I currently have a 8lb ProLite fly and it is a tad too lightweight for my tastes, the ITR flywheel is 10.25lb's.

Yeah that. I'm interested in either a centerforce or exedy. Used exedy in the past and was great. Differences?

Here is a tad bit of info, Exedy, ACT, CenterForce, CM, and MANY other clutchs are actually made by a single company. The end selling company picks the components/specs they desire from a selection of components manufactured by Exedy/Daikin.

The CenterForce was a decent clutch, but didnt last long at all, and does not use the extra weight design that makes their other clutchs so desirable.

pics from one of talonXracer's previous posts:

Sounds like the disc has worn to the point where the clutch pedal needs to be adjusted for more throw, OR, there is an issue with the hydraulics. Alot of guys have had excellent success with the EX CMC.
