Where do people get their K20A2 and K20Z swaps from?

I got mine out of a crashed 2003 acura rsx-s out at a junk yard. $2,500 for motor, trans and ecu.

When I got my swap the typeS's were just starting to really show up in the junk yards as used RSX's started to hit the used car market and youngsters were wrecking them left and right. Now there are a few established on-line people who have delivered excellent swaps, and some are associated with web sites like ours. I thought that the K24A2 or K24A4 are ok in cali, just not the K24A1.

nope k24a2 from tsx or accord which is for seadan which is not allow for ep3 which consider coupe. I believe only k20z1,z3,a2 are allow in CA.
I know someone did k24a2 in their ep3 but is not easy at all.

K24A1 is from a "light truck" so it can not be legally swapped into a car in California.
K24A2 has a drive by wire throttle and EGR system, both need to be instact and working to legally swap in California.
K24A4 has an EGR sytem that must be intact in order to legally swap in california.

Original ECU must be used in order to legally swap in california.

I think that the K24A1 would get caught by any competent state inspector when they pulled the vin from the engine and saw it was from a vehicle classified as a light truck. You might be able to pull off the other engines though if the inspector isn't paying much attention. But if he pulls up the info and it says all these engines come with egr systems then you fail.
