The time has come

Ok friends.. SO its been about 3 months without my ep3 its been killin me.. its come time to clean the block and lay down the shim and the head gasket and the head. So my ? is whats the best and safest way to clean the block 100% without worriein about it.. Just some degreaser and a nice wire brush???

I used degreaser and a variety of wire wheels on my drill. It took quite a while but it was worth it in the end.
