is it a quick fix? Exhuast donut/hardware

:mmad:there is a popping sound that goes off when im not accelerating and i let the acceleration go. its right under the passenger seat. can it be the rotors? or maybe the exhaust? i just need some suggestions before i take it to the mechanic. or if its something i can probably do myself

nah i dont think it has n e thing with beans
..and i raised my car up to pinpoint were the sound was coming from and it was where the exhaust system is connect to the headers. last time i went to cali. something fell off a truck and im guessing it loosened that part.
i dont have much mods to it
just simple:
greddy muffler
lowered 3 inches
intake

just simple stuff

Maybe just replace that donut gasket or tighten the bolts there? Could it be that it's just loose, and the popping is an exhaust leak? :shrug:

How close is the cat-back to the heat shield under the car? I may be wrong, but it could be that when you let off the gas the rocking motor is causing the exhaust to hit the bottom of the car.

...Or the bolts could be loose like Beater said. :mbiggrin:

It could be, My Ep3 last time had the same problem, the exhaust piping keep hitting the body

this really helps alot i am going to tighten up the bolts and check the axle back.. both are very good suggestions. ill post pics up soon

yeah i got it all taken care of thanks guys for the help . it turns out when i was going to replace the donut gasket. it was missing bolts, i bought this ep off craigslist from a dude the supposedly took care of his cars.. he just took care of how it looked. so i just replaced the the gasket bought the bolts and havent heard any problem since
