im wondering if anyone has a 3" exhaust setup with pics under the car so i can see it.. the ep seems to not like having a big exhaust due to how the tunnel is but im trying to get a bigger flowing exhaust cuz i can feel the restriction with this 60mm.

I posted pics of my 3" exhaust for a turbo member here wondering about clearence issues but the thread was probably deleted during crash. Anyways, there is not much room at all, it is a very tight squeeze. I was slammed before i had my 3inch exhaust and running a 205/50R15 tire with about a 3inch drop in the front and rear. I had to upgrade to 225/50R15 tires so i would sit slightly higher and had to raise up my suspension well over an inch and i still have clearance issues. Its not as bad ass you think though, I only scrape over speed bumps and very steep inclines. Ill try to find the pics i took.

i got the sunk2 mega power rr for the rsx type s and had it modified to fit my car! it sounds hella good! deep and sexy as hell!!!!! i get alot of compliments on it. people say it sounds way way better than the ricer exhaust people got! might want to look into that

Oh very nice. How's the clearance with your's on the A3? Also, what size turbo are you using on it?

Honestly I think it might work on yours if you fudge the ac line under the cowl more. Its got just over an inch between the comp housing and cowl. Mines a precision sc44, its around an 8-8.5 inch cover. This might give you an idea on fitment.

Got my exhaust in the mail today actually.... man... 3" exhaust piping is huge. It came with all the gaskets held on by the included hardware, silencer and everything. Welds look alright on it, kind of shoddy on the resonator section. The 2.25" stock header flange has a decent taper up to 3" which is kind of nice, I've seen other 3" exhausts that have a worse bottleneck.

The muffler is huuuuuge. I don't know how people can take themselves seriously with huge mufflers like this, I felt like i was holding a damn rocket launcher.

so, pretty much no piece of this exhaust bolts on. I knew the RSX and EP3 exhausts were different, but nothing works. The cat flange is cocked all weird, the axel back is too long so the loop that goes over the sway is in the wrong place. I'm about to throw the thing in the back of the car and take it an exhaust shop and tell them to make it fit.

It's funny how you remember stuff why parts won't fit as you're trying to put them on.

Yes, very likely. Vibrant makes a pretty nice looking flat black twin-tip muffler with a 3" inlet, so I may give that a shot.

Boooo, oh well. Rockin' the $149 3" DC5 exhaust..

This exhaust has changed tone a little bit since I've been driving around and its more tolerable tone-wise. When I got back from work today I unbolted the axel-back section, took a cut-off wheel to the tip and cut about 3-3.5" off it, sprayed the whole thing flat black and it looks a shitload better. I have a bunch of pics to share of the whole exhaust, I'll have to try to get on that when I get back home later tonight.

-Even with with a header of sufficient length, I can't verify that it will bolt up correctly.

that does not look to bad at all! once the tip was cut of course, and i dont care about loud. cant be much louder than my car now, but i have a freind who is very skilled in exhaust fab, so i may get this and have him modify it for me, and throw the muffler on a nice JDM angle ;) i love the way my HKS looks, just hate the 2.3" part

3" stainless steel pipe around $250 plus the muffler.

i wish I had a real reason to go 3 inch. I am slowly accumulating the parts for a 2.5in exhaust. I have a 2.5in hushpower II resonator and I am thinking about getting a reducer and flipping it so that after the resonator it goes to 3in because I am thinking about picking up the hushpower pro turn down muffler that is only made in 3in and 3.5in inlets.

well its on, we had to shorten the axle back 2 inches, cut two inches off the tip, and extend the midpipe. the midpipe extension looks shitty cause we did it at 7:45 and i had to be off the lift at 8:00 lol so it was a quickie. where the midpipe bends to meet the header, is LOW. less than an inch and a half. i scraped 3 times in 30 miles lol so when i fix the midpipe we are cutting the pipe clean off and twisting it, if it turns ill get a lot more clearance, and im going to make the merge a lot nicer, the ebay exhaust bells down to 2.5 to meet the midpipe, and i had a 2.5" 45 degree mandrel to use as an extension, but it was an ID - OD problem, and the 2.5 section of the ebay pipe slide into the 2.5 mandrel bend i had, but we had no choice, we were pressed for time and shoved it in and welded it up :( HOLY LOUD. Seriously no joke, drone is horrible. that muffler is coming off soon lol the car feels a lot snappier, more torquey at 3-5000rpm. i think once the extension is cleaned up it will be a lot better, there is a lot of restriction right there. and it threw my tune off going from 2.3" to 3" piping lol

I would raise the gas tank up, remove back seats, and form a tunnel underneath the chassis to tuck a 3" exhaust.

Personally, the ep3 performs great with a good suspension set up on road courses.A

Either way as people were saying before, the KTELLER piping is a great choice. for the stainless steel 3" model its now $238.50 before shipping... idk how they are with shipping cause i havent bought it yet.... I was waiting to buy the 3" Greddy downpipe for my car, but RHtuning.com site has been down, and they dont respond to emails or theyre facebook... soo alas custom Fab seems the route to go...

Man, i think im gunna go with the rsx ebay exhaust for the piping, its so cheap.
And i found out they make a "turbo" apexi world sport muffler, it sells on crsx for the same price as a normal ws2 muffler.

I got the 3" exhaust from ebay, (the speedy racer one) had to get it fabbed up at a shop but i put a magnaflow muffler on it. The car was LOUD. So i put the vibrant ultra quiet resonator on it and all it did was help with the droning. I'm gonna be supercharged in a week so i might think about putting a high flow cat somewhere. Maybe that'll help wit the noise.

i just got the asp 3" kit welded on with a vibrant dual tip muffler, shit is loud and deep and sounds amazing. Dont have any good pics but so worth it for only $350 brand new for it all

i dunno i paid 110 ill ship to you and everything for 75 to get it out of my hair. i need to rebuild my blower snout and re-do my exhaust cause the shit broke :( im going back to 2.5" too. let me know homie

i just installed 3'' megan exhaust today. it looks amazing, sounds amazing, the only problem i have with it is the exhaust is way way way to loud for cali strict ass laws. i had a turbo exhaust n it sounded good but nothing specail. it was pretty quit n i got pulled over with that exhaust. so of course stupid me just went the wrong direction on this one. il post up a pic of it later. i will definitely have a fix it ticket by saturday if i dont quiet this thing down. any suggestions ?

Ya, I replaced the bottle res with it. I would check out the hushpower res. The muffler shop suggested it to me after the vibrant res didn't do anything. I will try to get some pics and a video up soon.

It works and does its job but the resonator that the exhaust comes with is already 18" long and pretty big so it works pretty well also. Of course if you're not running a res it will work well. I actually experienced it with both of em on and it did not change anything. I did not do a DB test but u can clearly tell. Let us know what you do and what happens. Did u read that thread that the member posted earlier? There is some good info in their.
