Will a 17x8 offset of +28 with 235 45/17 tires stick out or will it sit flush with the wheel wells or would the 17x8 offset +42 sit a little more flush with the car.

If you are within these specs:
1. Stock suspension ie. NOT LOWERED or no cambers

I think the 17x8 + 28 will stick out in the front a bit. but the rear is fine. You wont rub or anything. Reason i know is because i have the bbs mr wheels with specs of 17x8 +38 and i have NO problem with rubs. The front do stick out A TINY bit, but not bad at all. the rear is REALLY flush i really like it. SO to be safe, i would say +42 offset if best. Now if you are lowered and cambered then i cant help you there but maybe my setup can be used as guide. I can take pictures of it this weekend to show you how much it sticks out with my setup.
O yeh, im sitting on 235/45/17 direzza 101 tires so yeh.

Hope that helps.

that low of an offset and you will rub. guardian and hondafreak run 17x8 +35 and guardian has his rears rolled (he is lowered) and hondafreak does not (he is at stock height i believe). but they are both on 235/40-17 because it gives better performance tire options and they both are high horsepower track whores.

thanks for all the help. i already have the tires and found the rims i want. i think im gunna go with the +42 offset. from what you guys have been saying it sounds like it will sit in there a little bit better and not stick out.

I think the +28 would be good. You won't be able to slam your ep, but it will be flush. Just add camber.

I believe him that setup sounds great, the reason why the others rubbed or stuck out in the front is due to those fat ass tires on the rims.

The 215-45-17 on 17x8 +38 goes perfect even with a little camber for turning performance if you take turns like a bat outta hell...

Lol I ordered myself some rims 17"-7.5 +38.

Tire shopping right now, I will start work at a tire place come Monday hope they have a great discount lol.

I plan on wrapping the rims with 215-45-17 or probably lower profile with 215-40-17.

Will post pics soon on the fitment

get the 45 series. trust.. the 40 series looks like a rubber band. my next DD size will 225/45-17 from 215/45-17 for comfort.

Oh I know so the last set of rims I had were 215-35-18 "the ones on avatar" OMG they were ass, I felt it if I drove over a snail.

But the first set of tires I had on those 18"s were 225-40-18 perfect comfort, 215-40-17 shall be 90% similar.

We shall see still undecided....

forgot to mention they have +35 offset apparently... how will they alter performance?

yes it'll fit. you'll be getting a 17x8 wheel and wider tires (wider footprint, more straight line stability, higher traction potential with good tires, etc) . i'd ditch the 235/45's though. tire is really tall. but since you're at stock height they might fill in the gap better.

what size would you recommend? 225/45/17?
