*sigh* This question must come up every few weeks. I'd say to make it a sticky, but nobody ever reads the freaking stickies.

CRSX, Amazon, Majestic Honda.

kind of late but I got one for a type s worked perfect. It was a Denso plug and play primary o2 for $102, free shipping and no tax. The item number for it is
234-9005 (RSX-S fit...about 0.5-1" longer wires but otherwise fits perfect)
234-9004 (EP3-Si specific)
I hope you didnt buy them yet.

you can get them from Autozone or other autostores, they carry the OEM Denso or aftermarket ones.
price ranges from $110 to $150.

You need to post the exact error code if you want help, just stating "I have a CEL" won't get you any useful help.

The OEM sensor is a wideband, and you should never use a narrowband primary O2 sensor. Installing a race header will not throw any error codes for the primary O2 sensor (unless you damage the sensor during the install), but if you do not put a spacer (or "simulator) on the secondary O2 sensor, you will get a P0420, because the increased exhaust flow fools the ECU into thinking the catalytic converter is shot.

Primary from the cat? I thought it was the secondary from the cat...lol...

But yeah I had the same problem too when I installed the OBX RH V2 and my primary went out on me.

Woops my bad haha! Yeah before the cat.

I'm just curious, though. There are so many primary O2 sensors for the K-series engine that I find some that are good cheap like around 110 shipped. I'm mainly looking at the RSX O2 sensors since they are somewhat longer. The part numbers I see are 234-9005 & 234-9064 (Denso brand)
the 9064s are much cheaper but for 05-06 RSX models. The 9005s are from 02-04 models which would make sense for me to get since I have an 02 EP, however they are more expensive, like 40-60 dollars more. I'm just wondering if there is any difference in using any of them.

On a side note, sorry if I'm thread jacking!

I really don't know... I never did try the RSX or type s 02 sensors. I just heard that they are longer than the EP version, although the EP 02 sensors are a bit more expensive.

So, my O2 sensor (above) finally came yesterday.
I immediately went out and bought an 02 socket, and a torque wrench.

The sensor (Denso 234-4122) came with anti-sieze gel stuff.

Now, before I attempt this entirely on my own, I'm just going to run down on what I need to do:

Locate secondary o2 sensor (midway along the car, I believe... it will be the closest to the muffler on the exhaust system).

Remove old, broken o2 sensor (take note of wiring).

Apply anti-sieze compound to threads of new sensor.

Use O2 socket to ratchet new sensor in (being careful with the wires).

Torque to manufacturers specs.

Is there anything else I am missing? Does the CEL turn off by itself, or will I need to clear it?

Thanks for any assistance, I really want to do this tonight.
I will take pictures and post a DIY if all goes well... If it doesn't go well, I'll delete the pictures and pretend it never happened.

Lee.

The ECU may turn off the CEL eventually, but it's easiest to just pull the ECU fuse from the underhood fusebox for 30sec or so and reset the ECU.

I installed mine okay, but the second I got the car up on jacks, it started raining pretty heavily, so I wanted to finish as soon as possible, so I couldn't take any pics... sorry guys!

CEL reset itself within about 20 minutes of driving.
