Well It has been a while since I updated my rides thread, so long the old one was lost when the site updated.

Anywhoo, the car has changed quite a lot since last time, new rims, fresh paint and so on. I am currently having a new engine built, a K24A2/K20A2, with build bottom end, hoping to get her to make good power and rev to around 8250 or so.

She needs lowering a bit more and some more camber dialed in.

Have to say thanks to Tony at Skunk2 for all the help and advice, top bloke, and to Eric Moon, for all the ideas, thoughts and inspiration. And TDI North over here for the engine work, huzzah! I salute you.

Some pics my buddy Sharky took at Japfest, one of our shows.

Hey fella. Nope not yet. The front needs to go a bit lower I think. But I need to replace my old top mounts before I play with that so I can do all in one place. The wheels were going to go red. But I like em black for the moment.

Oh just FYI the car has done 146,000 mikes plus change. New motor will be in end of the month with luck.

But thanks for kind words guys. I get most of my inspiration from the members on here.

They are 30 on the 8.5 and 25 on the 9's. The rears need a bit of extra camber as do the front, plus as I said a tad lower.

Thanks fella. Some more work just done, I have also just replaced the top mounts with new OEM ones. after 147,000 miles, so much better hahaha.

Ok here are a few more pictures of the new brakes going on. There are worn in now and stop brilliantly, of course for hard road use zero fade as you would expect. Need to get on a track of course and give them a proper work out. See how they stand up to that, even with me at the wheel me haha.

Goodridge Hoses.

As they sit nicely behind the 8.5 inch wide Grids

So, as said very happy with this set up, they are bonkers light, and stop very well. I am running single piece disks at the moment F2000, their proper fast road/track disks, though I could put 2-piece on if i want, the above though comes in under a grand so good value.

I will get some more up, soon, I have a new engine being built as we speak, I have just ordered new forged internals from the guys at go pwr, and these will be going in a K24A2, and a brand new K20A2 head, with Skunk2 Stage 3 cams, and valve train. ARC airbox, Skunk2 inlet manifold and throttle body, we have seen some great gains over here with those. My weak point is the Jackson header that was left over from when I had the Jackson charger on, but as soon as I can get hold of a Skunk2 header, than that will go on. Oh she will keep the 70mm mega power R.

I'll run her like that for a bit, then I will take the head off and once funds allow, port and polish the head, see if we can get a few more bhps out of here :D

Super clean. You have any interior pics?

Well, here is a small one of me with my son, leaving a show, I will take some better interior pics and get them up, it still needs tucking some of the wires and whatnot out of the way in the back. Since this pick I have removed the oem belts completely, that was another kilo or two of weight saved.

So the next stage of my project is under way. A K24 A2 forged bottom end, mated to a stage 3 valve train and K20A2 head. 24/20 baby yeah!. So Saturday I had a cool day visiting Team TDI a Tuner based in Warrington England. Here are a few teaser shots of some parts, and the block before it starts it's prep work, ready for all the exciting custom parts to go in, and all the valve train to be built up. We are using forged Pistons and rods and a 13.1 compression. Hoping for a nice doable 8250-8400 rev limit. Though of course it will depend on how the power comes in when we map the K-Pro.

Thanks to Lou, Paul and Ben for making me welcome.

Thanks to Tony at Skunk2, for the help and advice.

Skunk2 Parts:

Stage3 Cams
Pro Valves
Pro Springs
Retainers
Inlet manifold
70mm Throttle Body
Fuel rail
TCT.
