Whats up fellas. I am going to be painting my VC soon and would like to see some of what you guys have done in your engine bay. I am undecided on the color but I think I am going to go with candy royal purple. Let me see what you guys have done for inspiration!:mtongue:

i have a racecoated masterpiece...the pic does it no justice... its an eye popper... TONS of metallic shine in it... i LOVE it. she only goes on the car in the summer months, the rest is in a box in climate controlled storage. lol

I can't see how just painting it would be an issue. I mean, I have seen people engine paint blocks, and the paint holds up.

If your just looking to get some crazy color just powder coat it. Its probably right around the same price and everything. Just make a stop by your local powdercoater and check out some of their colors. they pretty much have every color you could want. and its way more durable then paint. here is mine when i got it done. I ended up not liking the color with the red H's so choose wisely. hah

thanks, I sold it to the guy who ended up being my boyfriend so it worked out nicely.

I think even that puple whould look fine with everything else. that was the original idea for me and went with the transparent green last second.
If its the purple im thinking of its totally badass in person it looks kind of black certain ways and purple other ways.

Not yet my friend, very soon. The car is still being put together. Just got it bolted in Tuesday. Had to notch the subframe, and now I have to redo the fuel lines to clear the sidewinder manifold. I have been busy, but I will post pictures asap. It's getting close to the end now, and I'm getting excited

I think it looks great when Honda did it for the prelude.

thanks it only took about 10 mins to tape it all off which was nothing compared to all the time I spent preping it the only thing I don't like about it is somehow the tape came off of the silver peice where the dip sick goes in sometime in between trips to the booth and I guess my buddy didn't notice it ?

Good point. I would be worried that the paint/powder would chip away from the oil cap seat and end up in the head.

Nah. You should do something epic if you're going green, like a valve cover version of a Master Chief helmet or something.

Before I bought my JDM valve cover I did the wrinkle red mod on my stock one. I didn't care for the results of the wrinkle finish so I decided to go with a blue:

This is when I used the paint stripper to remove the stock silver, I never bothered taking a pic of the stripper taking off the wrinkle red.

Heres one with a custom color we mae up at work. Just after pulling out of the paint booth, still need todo a few small things to it. Im painting a few under the hood things this color, Mount brackets, thottle cable brackets and a few other transmission brackets.

My attempt at a "custom" paint job. The color is titanium silver blue and I used high heat white/ sharpies for the design. I wish I had an airbrush cause I am proud of the design. Only thing is one of the upper plug cover bolts is broken and won't come out.

This is what the black one looked like before I re-painted it. My A/C compressor seized and my entire engine bay looked like this for quite a while.

I have considered doing a VC bronze to match my IM and SRI but I think it would be a bit too much of the same color. What do you think?
