View Full Version : mounting amp under seat??

I'm gonna start working on my "chad" box next week, and I didn't want to run my amp all the way to the back. I bought a new small amp the other week. Its demensions are 7x9.3x1.9". So I was wondering if it would be possible to mount the amp under the drivers seat?? I figure running speaker wire would be easier than trying to extend my amp power cable, make an amp rack, and wire up some fans to make sure its cool. Also, I barely ever have any one in my back seat, and if I do, it usually behind my passenger.

EDIT: If not, would it be possible to hide it some where in the rear 1/4 panel plastics and still be able to have it cool??

You can mount it under the seat. I have done it to a few ep's with no problems.

do you guys have pics?? did you mount them to the actual floor? or the under side of the seat? or the center hump where the front seat rails bolt to??

i have one mounted under the driver's seat on top of the hump. fits perfectly.

the rear seat passenger dont think so:mbiggrin: but the mounintg should be good enogh for the EMMA judges:msmile:

I mounted two amps under my seats, both sides fit perfectly.
I just mounted them on the floor.
But when I want to tune them, I need to remove both of my seats...= =

I have mine under the seat, I wouldn't say its mounted though ....
I dontt let anyone sit behind me, thats the rule.
