I just waxed my car for the first time. used Meguiar's Plus Premium paste wax. I spread the wax and wait for it to dry then wipe it off when it dries. Does that seem completely wrong to anyone? If I'm putting on the wax, then it dries and then i wipe it off, is there some wax still on the car after I wipe it? Seems like all i'm doing after I wipe it is removing the wax I just put on.

Here's a link to some "how does it work" web site. LINK!! (http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4609712_wax-protect-car.html) Make sure to click some of the other wax articles on the top left of the page for more info. There is lots of good info there.

if your car feels slick after then the wax is on there.

Wait until it rains or gets wet... you'll know if it's there! BTW, when you let it dry, try to keep the car out of the sun for a better adhesion. Also, don't let it get dust on it before you buff it off, otherwise you will put a million little swirl marks in your clear coat. Man, it's been too long since I detailed my car, can't wait to get the time!

No problem. If you're looking to make your car really pop between waxes try THIS (http://www.autogeek.net/mg13224.html). Really makes the car look its best. Show quality even.

I have used the NXT series stuff and it is the ONLY! wax that I will use now. I used to work at Advance Auto Parts and got the chance to try every wax that came out, new or old. I've tried mothers, eagle1, turtle, the orange bottle, etc etc. The NXT wax offers the best shine and durability. The liquid wax is easier to remove, but the paste seems to last longer. BUY THE NXT!!

but how do I know after I've waxed, that the wax is on there? It all looks shiny to me so I don't know if i did it right.

If you followed the intructions you should be just fine. Wait for it to rain or run a hose over your paint and it it beads up like little bubbles or water then your good. Ive used well over 50 dif kinds of Last step products ranging from 20-275 dollars and so many of them are different from one another between application and if it needs to haze or it doesnt, & the size of beads. But if your doing what the bottle says and you have a good enough prep for it you should be fine
