Okay my car is lowered on megan coilovers, yesterday my tie rod came loose while I was driving and I lost steering, the problem is there is barely enough threads to secure my tie rod to the tie rods ends. Does anyone make aftermarket tie rod ends? thanks.

Megans don't go that low.... did you lower your springs too? As far as the tie rod goes its kinda odd that you don't have enough thread left. I can't even begin to think of how that is possible.....if anything it would have the opposite affect in which you would max out your tie rods on the inside (this is also affected by camber). How much toe in are you trying to get lol?

Really I don't know 4inches was a guess I just maxed them out all the way around except the front passenger side.

Have you gotten an alignment after installing the coilovers?

Yup, but I think the shop that installed em did a half ass job.

I would honestly go somewhere else because an alignment is a must on our cars after such a thing. Especially now since it came loose.

i have the same problem, i am drop about 2.5" front and 2" on the rear more or less, i guess, i have ksport coilover and i bought the reverse tie rods too, but still have he same problem not enough thread....... i taken the car for alig. 3 times already and still have the same problem...one thing the front is on zero camber, i was on 2.5,but i didn't like the toe in on the front..... do u think i should get another set of coilover ? or the car is to low ? help please any one ?

My personal opinion: u are probably too low but picture would deff clear that out, however I have seen ppl with more than 3 to 3.5" drop driving around with no problem at all.
but as far as not having enough thread on ur tie road ends goes, I have never heard of anything like it.
How much negative camber are u currently running ?
going for -2 sth solves this issue - not sure, just heard - (plz someone confirm this )
OR try to raise it up a lil and see what happens, b/c my buddy had the same issue on his dc5'z too but his car was low as fuck !!!

JUST FYI: try another alignment shop !!!

Actually there are very few threads left on my car well but my toe is and camber is set properly.

am "-2" all around , and yet not slammed, got plenty thread left on stock tie rod , - 1.5 camber front - 1.75 in rear + "0" toe all the way

**update** Well I found larger tie rod ends to fix the problem and got a new alignment car handles much better.

Im not sure why people think this is not possible. When you lower the car this much your tie rods get an extreme angle. As the tire rods move through their upwards travel they are effectively shorter. To compensate for this the alignment shop had to adjust your tie rod ends out to bring you back to or close to 0 toe. An easy fix for this is to grab some camber bolts (ignalls, spc, eibach) and dial in as much negative camber as possible. Even with 2 bolts per side you probably wont get more than 2*, but that should be enough to move the tie rod mount on the shock in far enough to get decent thread engagement. J's racing also makes longer tie rods but they are a pretty expensive alternative.
