Well i know my k24 vtec killer setup fell off the map. I was contemplating selling my car and buying an s2000 once i got a job as a pharmacy intern. Then i got an insurance quote...... Yeah well ill be keeping the ep for a while lol. Ive sold the k24a1 head and valvetrain and bought a k20a2 head, competition stage 4 clutch and competition 8 pound flywheel. Me and my buddy will be pulling my current motor tonight and dropping the new one in tommorow. I'm very excited to say the least. I will take pics as we go and also of the car since it has changed since the last time anyone has seen it.

Haha yeah it kept stalling on me i was like wtf. Then i looked at the kal. All your cam angles are set to 0. You could make so much more power if they were tuned man.

Its all good man. Right now im running a k24/k20 basemap and omg the car pulls so hard. I was neck and neck with my buddies 265 ls turbo integra. Although my obx header does rub on the chassis i think, and i need a new filter. Cant wait to get a magnesium street tune on here.

you know... I think I'm going to have to up the ante a bit around here. Everyone is doing some headwork on epcrack. i want to be a groupie too!!!!!

That and around town the k20 bug has hit really hard. Alot of the older civics around town are jumping on that bandwagon. for a couple months I was top dog around town.
My throne is in jeopardy... i think 260 or 250 to the wheels should keep me up top for alittle longer. Gotta love the extra torque.

im glad you decided to keep your setup, you put alot of work into it. the only flaw is your axle back and midpipe. you will notice the difference once your 2.5in all the way through.

I know, its mostly b-series around here. You should do a 50deg vtc gear or maybe the modified 45 degree. You wanna recruit gtiimportfanatic and all meet at lebenon valley next wed?

Yeah but i love how quiet it is driving around. If i see that 2.5 inch is beneficial enough then i will upgrade.

Not yet i want to get tuned before i really beat the hell out of it. Is the ep3 header not supposed to fit on a k24? I think mine is causing my car to vibrate like crazy.

How's the clearance between the exhaust at the first bend and the bottom of the car? Remember that with the block being 19mm taller, it pretty effectively pulls up your exhaust into the bottom of the car. I had to have the exhaust modded a little right after the flange and have it angle down slightly to create more clearance. Fitting my 3" exhaust is going to be a superbitch.

With my K24, my exhaust was literally riding right on the floor and vibrated the car like crazy. Not only this, but the hanger on the header is obviously not in the right place anymore, so mine was vibrating right on the subframe as well. I ended up taking a cutoff wheel to it and it helped out a ton.

What's the rsx midpipe diameter? 2.25"?

I have the apexi ws2 catback and it's a really quiet 60mm catback. I've heard the stock axleback flows pretty well but everyone on k20a.org seems to be running 3" so idk what size is optimal for performance + DDability.

the 05-06 midpipe is 2.25in OD, the inner diameter is more around 2in maybe a hair more.

lets pick a day in July. I'll go. I still haven't gone this season. I'm free whenever. Just let me know... cause I'm probably going to have to take a half-a-day off from work, and prep during the week so I have the right amount of fuel in the tank.

Ok so i fixed the axle and with the exception of the header hitting now and again it runs great. Will post possible kill vids tommorow night if the tuning session goes well.

Sorry guys i was on vacation up at my families lakehouse. No internet :( The tuning went great. The car trapped 100.5 mph fastest trap in the 1/4 when i ran. I got into a small fender bender coming home from the track unfortunately, but im goping to have the car back friday. That 100.5 mph run was full interior, obxv3 race header, rsx-s midpipe and stock exhaust on street tires. I think i might trap 104 if i run gutted and get a 2.5inch straight through exhaust. Again sorry for falling off the map.

Got numbers/graph?

Or was it just a street tune?

dkid15
07-11-2010, 08:24 AM
just a street tune for now. I still have a stock exhaust, intake manifold and shitty obx header. Car pulls amazingly, however ill get dynotuned when i get all the goodies i want. I will hop on the dyno as soon as my car is back from the body shop.
