:secret:I have not posted anything on my new build on here since it began and the K20A3 gave its life for it, so here are the details:
I started out about 2 years ago and was a frequent member on here. I kept looking at the turbo section all the time and was so jealous of the power and the prestige of the turbo EP3's. I was working a lot of hours at the time so I decided to save up and buy the RevHard kit for $3700 from Corsportusa. Waited about 2 weeks and got the kit and used Jeenyus's sticky'd install guide, (a lot better than the one that RevHard gives you) to put it together. Took the car to the dyno and after putting in a Walbro 255 and bigger injectors, and a Megan Racing test pipe, made 271 on a mustang dyno. This was at 78K miles on the car. At 107K miles, the K20A3 timing tensioner gave out at 8000 rpm's, and the motor broke 2 exhuast rollers and and f'd the motor. I found a K24Z1 motor out of a 2008 CRV that had been flooded at 4000 miles. I also found a deal on a 08 Si head and trans. Here are the pics to date:

I will be running a Fab Worx sidewinder manifold with a Precision 58/57E Dual ball bearing turbo, 3" stainless downpipe and exhaust, Cometic head gasket, Hondata intake gasket, RBC intake manifold, ARP everything, AEM fuel rail, ACL coated race bearings, Polished crank, DROP engineering stainless poly mounts, 1000cc Precision injectors, Hybrid Racing Timing chain tensioner, <(last part for the engine I am waiting on), and 6 speed LSD tranny. I will post pictures as the products arrive. I pity the fool that wants to play around after this build is done. :heh: Please feel free to leave your comments, positive or negative.

what compression?

you could def get away with 9.5:1 with a good tune on a kpro.

Went with 8.8:1 Wiseco for a "street" vehicle. 8.8 will allow better compatibility with 93 octane. I will have to run more boost to make power, but oh well. The better head and bigger engine still should provide enough power and torque at a lower boost setting. :band:

I know that it has been a long time since I have updated this, but my life has been really crazy lately. I have had issues with the build, been working 2 jobs, had a baby girl, etc, the list goes on. Needless to say, the Ep was not at the top of the list, as a have another car to drive. Recently the build has been slowed down by Hybrid racing sending me new pins for their TCT, saying that the old ones were faulty. That would not have been an issue, if the motor was not already put back in the car! Also, I ran into issues with the z3 transmission. I was aware that you needed to change over the counterweight and shift cable holder, but I was not aware that I needed the whole guts inside the trans (the shifter rod, dowel, etc) as well, so that slowed me down. Then the turbo manifold I was sent by Fabworx had pinholes in a bunch of welds, which I had to fix, and I needed to fabricate a new downpipe, and 3 inch SS exhaust. The new downpipe was required due to my change to a sidewinder manifold. Then, there was all the body work that needed to be done from some A-hole backing into my car and driving off, and all the body add-ons. Don't worry, no ricer body kits here. But here's the latest teaser:

AFTER::mtongue: MOTOR AND TRANS MEET CAR.

More to come very soon....honestly, I can't wait to drive my car again. Its been so long :mcry: Should be a little faster than the k20a3 turbo setup I had before. :mwink: Hoping for around 450-500ish. We will see.....

(if you want to know all the goodies in the motor, etc, read the first post. I'm lazy, and don't feel like re-typing it all.)

Neato...actually I totally missed what you were up to with your car...I've always wanted to do a turbo car, just not appropriate for my ep build...can't wait to see how it works out for you!
