Long story short, A small mix up and i boosted 22psi instead of 12. My block has a whole in it, somehow the starter took some damage. Im picking up a new k24, i was wondering if all the starters are the same, or do i need to find another a3 one.

Ill update the thread with some pictures when we pull the motor tomorrow.

Thanks

some are diff, we tried to put a type s on an a3 and it didnt work for some reason. we noticed how they were wired different. If you look at them next to each other you can see what I mean. Either way when we put it in the car didnt start, pretty sure the starter was good but not for shure, but seeing minor differences in construction made us say screw it and put an a3 back on and it was fine ( maybe polarity is different dunno).

Oh yea, does your motor look like this?

Wow thats crazy. I had a vacuum line pop off on the freeway as i was killing a cobalt SS that had every gauge you could buy (should have bought a bigger turbo)and pegged my gauge out....Check engine light came on and car went into limp mode...pulled over hooked the line back up, fired right up with no problems. I even checked compression the next day and it was perfect.
Makes me feel kinda lucky after seeing your pictures.

Blew my motor on N/A stock and man that thing was nasty, even took out my A/C compressor hahahaha. I wish I had pics, a friend of mine still might have the block...

BTW, No get the starter thats recommended for the block, best to avoid any confusion.
