i'd go to like 1 bar a.k.a. almost 15 psi. that's pushing it though.

15psi is bout the max the greddy turbo will take but i have a buddy tht has a rsx type s making 450whp on a stock k20a2 for bout 2yrs now and still running strong

the bottom end really isnt the deciding factor as much as an amazing tune. If your dyno tuner knows his shit, your in for some good reliable fun

I ran 20+ psi on a stock K20A2 for 8,000 miles...then I cracked a piston(not burned because of tune) and the rod broke my block, making me switch out to a new long block. I'm back to 15 psi for now and loving it. I'll do pistons and rods this winter for 25psi next year :)

The block can handle a good amount of boost, its the stock rods and stock pistons that take a beating at high boost. I am pretty sure my tune is for 13psi....

441whp on a stock type s motor.

I've never heard of damaging the block without punching a rod through it. So as mentioned the rods/pistons are usually the weak point. Certainly with stock rods and pistons, but I believe the same is true even with aftermarket rods and pistons.

The block will certainly take far more than the Greddy kit can give it.

That greddy kit will probably crap out around 15 psi anyway. The turbo that comes with that kit is really based for a stock motor due to it's small size. If you get a kick ass tune then you should be good for a while, until a rod breaks or the timing tensioner fails.

thanks guys. i was thinking 15 but i just needed to make sure. this confirms it. one of my friends knows a guy from church's dyno down in so cal. i heard he's one of their best. he suppose to be flying up my way in a week or so, so i hope he does good to my girl..

would a stock Z1 handle about the same boost? more? less?

12psi dd on any kseries block stock internals. driver error determines the longevity. i've seen 14psi on a stock a2.

yeah Z1 should be the same if not better.. dont mean run more boost. but get better results.. but for the most partt its really all on the tuner

Haven't we covered this issue a thousand times already? Its easy, keep adding boost until you hit the power you want or until your motor splodes all over the floor. Then you are at the most it can handle. I'm sure this is in the search somewhere.

With enough turbo you can do this..

motor
stock k20a2 --for now--
arp headstuds
supertech springs and retainters

drivetrain.
stock ep3 trans
CM fx700

turbo setup
gt4094r
tempest racing downpipe, dump tubes, and charge pipes
precision 750IC

fuel
inlinepro 1000cc injectors
255intank -6 from tank and back

tuned by me on 25lbs
