I have 17x7.5 and I am running 205/40/17 with hfp suspension. I need more rubber on these rims due to the road conditions of western PA, the rims are just going to get trashed with such little rubber. Whats the largest tire you think can be used without getting rubbing?

wow u got a small ass tire dude. im dropped on progress springs with 225 45 17 and dont rub. the factory 17"s for honda are 215 45 17 so you can go either of those or 225 40 17 and you shouldnt rub. hfp drop is only about an inch.

225-45-17 for sure!!!! I wouldn't get anything less for a 7.5 wide wheel. I had that exact set up before my current wheels and didn't have any problems with them. My offset was also +40...

well some of the guys on here with stretched wheels have 8in wheels with 205s just depends what your going for.my wheels are +40 with 225 45. but a side note. if you do 225 45. your best to ask around here and see if anyone knows what tires run big. i had 225 45 nexens before i had my dunlops and they occasionally rubbed but the dunlops i have now dont and the bridgestone re92s i had didnt rub either. i guess some tires just run big. but 215 45 or 225 40 for sure wont rub and im 95 percent sure that 225 45 wont rub with the hfp setup. but if you want to b safe then dont do 225 45.

+1 for 225/45-17
esp with your 7.5 in wheels you should be running 225's!
