Hey all,

I just bought the "Stock Interiors" JDM replica red carpet. It's immaculate! The quality is very high end. I'm really pleased. I plan on taking some pictures and making a DIY for this install. Looks like it's gonna be real easy to do. I compared the color to my friend's DC5 ITR Recaro red and it's pretty close!

Update,

I went to my UPS Store and pick up the carpet. The instructions say to immediately remove the carpet and lay it flat for 12-24 hours. This will remove the wrinkles from shipping. Here's some pictures of the carpet as it sits right now.

Eventually I'd like to do this, look forward to seeing a DIY...I think the other one was lost in the crash.

Also FYI, if anyone is wondering you can order the carpet without the heel pad (the JDM/EDM carpets did not come with the heel pad). Just let them know in the comment box when you place the order.

I might actually look into getting one of these or even just a new black one in the future, my current is getting a little tired on the drivers side.

I should have waited to post. I've been working at a racetrack for 14 days straight.
Haven't had a chance to make a DIY. I wanted to tease a little, but this is brutal.

Sorry guys,

I'm gonna take a day off this week and really get at it.

Well, I installed the carpet. I'm not happy with the finished product at all. My biggest complaint is that they claim it works on the coupe and the hatch. I'm gonna let them know that it doesn't work on the hatch at all. I wouldn't recommend that anyone buys these carpets. I'd be happier with the RHD JDM carpets and live with the holes on the rights side for the dead pedal rather than use this POS.

Pics?

From previous installs I've seen the carpet fits pretty well. It just took a bit of trimming from what others have said.

It looks like you would have to make some cuts for the factory floor mat hooks if you wanted to use them. :/

Yeah please post some pics? Other installs from the stockinteriors.com website seem to go really well. When I do mine I'm having them professionally done.

Listen that VegaS10 guy did the stockinteriors.com carpeting in his car and it looks great, I don't see why you'd want to get JDM carpet that won't even match up with our floorpan. Just have it professionally installed if its that much of an issue.

The stockinteriors.com carpet is way more affordable and a perfect fit.

I had JDM carpet and took it out.

Now i have $600 carpet sitting in my shop doing nothing!

this is an epic fail on my part. I was really ambitious to have the red stock interiors carpet in my EP, but decided that I didn't like the fit and finish. It's too plush, and it wasn't fitting right. The moulds that go under the seats and for the footwell didn't fit properly and so on. I personally would rather have the JDM EP3 carpet than the stock interiors carpet. But that's a preference.

got any pics of installed? or OEM vs stockinteriors?

What did you exactly buy? (ultra plush)?

Thats exactly the reason why i purchased the JDM carpet. i ordered a sample piece from Stockinteriors and I just didn't like it. It looked cheap and you could easily rip it to pieces. I wasn't impressed with the plastic bottom either. i got the JDM piece and immediately knew it was going to last.

If you do go the JDM route... save your pennies cause it's gonna be somewhat expensive for a decent shape one. I swear mine came from a brand spankin new one. It still has fresh dimples from the floor mats, no wear marks at all. and no stains either. It's perfect... but I had to pay an arm and a leg for it, and searched forever.
