well its that time. gotta ditch the stockers. was wondering whats the best pair for a medium price range. i have a couple hundred dollars to spend so i was mainly looking at the dc's or a couple others ones. anybody got any suggestions????

and how does the ecu handle aftermarket headers? does it run like poo or should everything bolt up and go??

thanks for all the help in advance. lookin forward to some replies

buy a megan RH...you'll see minor gains, with stock ecu, but a reflash or kpro makes a bigger difference

thanks for the reply.

do you have any good links to where i could buy the megan race headers? i was trying to decide between them and the dc race headers but havent found very trustworthy sites to order from.

and the kpro is most definitely the next thing on my list. just wish i had the money for one. havent heard anything bad about them yet

deffinately get the DCRH i just installed mine less than a week ago and absolutely love em. besides the fact that i am running open header right now because my B-pipe was so rusted on to my cat, i just decided to cut the B-pipe haha you wont regret getting the DCRH and the only downfall is the install and its a pain in the ass if you have an 02 or 03 cuz the stock parts are rusted to shit. if you decide to go with em, lemme know. and i could guide you through the install a little bit becuase man its a pain.

and i got mine brand new on ebay for 160 :mtongue: so look in places like that too

I'd say the DC or for a little more but you would have to change your exhaust setup to a rsx-s or a j-spec get a rsx-s spec kidd racing RH or pretty much the same thing a clubrsx RH. I just picked up the club rsx RH. It's stainless steel, light and a great quality lookin header to run with my new mugen exhaust. It ran me 425 plus 15.00 for some spring bolts, so 440 shipped. I have a DCRH ep3 spec if you want to buy it I would probably let it go. Once I get it off the car I could snap some pics. To see if your interested.

The obx is a great header for the price as well. No matter wat tho get a rh. Dont waste your time with a shorty!!! You will only see small gains that you can hardly feel. The only downfall to an rh is passing inspection.

Your best bet for the lowest priced header that shows the best and most gains is the Kidd Racing Krusher header. It is an excellent copy of the SSR/DTR tri-Y header. It will require modification of the midpipe to typeS specs(any muffler shop can do this).

and you dont want to buy a PAIR of headers - its a 4 cylinder, and 1 head.. so you would only need one. i just wanted to make sure you were aware of that ... your multiple posts suggest more than one.... but we only have 1 in the ep. :mwink:

Skip on the DC, their flex sections are complete garbage. I'd spend a little more and get the Kidd Racing.

i love my DCRH type-s. jus had to mod the midpipe and it was well worth it. you can feel the gains in upper rpms and on the freeways

yes, that is the right part! the only downfall for the header he is selling, is that all of them have the nitride coating. and the nitride coating sucks too

well emissions is no problem for me. i live in sc so they dont check:) so im primarily deciding between the dc race header or the megan racing race header so i dont have the money for the kidd racing:(

my main question is, will the megan racing race header bolt up to my a3??? because on megan racings website it says its for the type s.

dcrh isnt too expensive and ive been running the dcrh for almost 4 yrs now and its still in good shape. you notice the power gains alot especially on the highway.
