I babied my Ep religiously until about 800 miles. I hit the rev limiter once before 1k between 800-1k I gradually increased tach speeds and clutch engagements, practiced accelerating hard onto freeway on ramps then coasting and passing moderately. I've got 1.5K now and have bounced of the fuel cut-off twice and made two top speed runs. I think my Ep is well broken in now. Keep in mind I have never shifted past 3k until the engine has been fully warmed up or been running / driving for about 5 min or so.

you should be fine after 1500.. yea the manuel says 600 for the break in of the engine and like 500 or something for the breaks.. i went to 1000 just to be REAL safe before i pushed my car... but yea.. you should be fine man... no worries

You should be just fine to open it up now. I waited until right after 600 miles and I have 6000 now. I've opened it up pretty much every single day since hitting 600 and it seems to be doing fine.

I dont think thats a good idea. It takes LONGER for your engine to warm up if you stay under 3k, which means your engine is running below normal operating temperatures for LONGER, which means you will get more wear. The manual says even in the cold you should warm up for no more than 1 minute, and dirve normally (to me, this means shifting @ 3700) to finish the process of warming up the engine.

my ep feels much quicker than it did early in the break in point, which was 1500 also.. i have about 3400 miles at the moment, about 150 more miles until my free scheduled check up :D -mike
