Working on 193,000 right now, original 2003 motor.
Swapped the clutch for an Exedy Stage 1 at about 160,000, but it's going back to OEM-ish (RSX-s w/ITR fly) soon. Exedy is starting to fail already. :thumbd:

Aside from general maintenance, is there anything a fellow owner should "worry" about when approaching 200k? I just rolled over 100k a month or so ago, and plan to drive this car indefinitely.

Not anything beyond regular maintnance....mine never even smoked or ran bad at 193,000.....I changed the timing chain and had some issues. Without a doubt, it would have made 250-300 K with no problems. I couldnt have asked for a more reliable motor.

Yeah I got some cash store away for when that day comes but for now still seems to be holding up pretty good. I just thought going OEM again and using the extra cash for something else special though and waiting to swap to get a better clutch/fly combo.

Great to see these cars hold up well! Currently putting 40k miles/year on my '05...

When the miles get up there, do you guys go for a thicker oil, or stick w/ 5w30?
How do the shocks & paint last?

I know most probably still run the 5w30. I run the amsoil 5w40 all year long unless if the temp get extreme then hop up to a 10w30 or 10w40 but otherwise stick with the 5w30. Stock shock should last around 100k if you stay on stock springs and depends on how the roads are where you live. If you use a set of springs that will lower your car the stock shocks wont last you very long. Wash your car and take care of it and you should have great paint for a long time. For those and myself who live on streets that salt is used in the winters we have to take extra care. I have 160k on my car and have two little specs of rust on the rear hatch. I have plans to change to a carbon hatch anyways. Otherwise my paint is still pretty good. Want a new paint job sooner or later anyways. Hope this covers your questions

I'm at 125K with the original clutch. I was thinking about replacing the clutch at 130K with OEM + DC5 flywheel.

what do you guys think ? should i go with a different brand ?

No there might be a couple that have hit 200k. I know TalonX has an ass load of miles on his ep chassis.

I'd stick with OEM unless you're building a monster. When I finally replaced mine at ~160k, I went with an Exedy Stage 1 and ACT 11lb fly, just because the price was pretty good and I figured "why not upgrade?"
Mistake.
30k miles and barely 1 year later, and that thing is taking a dump on me. Switching back to OEM with an ITR fly soon, looking forward to another 100k+ miles of smooth OEM clutch goodness :thumbu:

thanx a bunch for replying , and yes thats the exact same deal for me now , just b/c am getting a good deal i thought about doing some upgrades too. but my friend showed me both of his thumbs down once i told him about exedy stage 3. however, my ep is a dd and i don't wanna have too much hustle at all.
- this is a super noob question but , Integra Type R (ITR) fly is same as dc5s flywheel ???? or what is the difference ?? :D

They are different flywheels and weight is difference. I think around 17 lbs or so lbs for type S and about 10 or 11 lbs for ITR

Exactly, lighter fly from the ITR, but will play nice with any (I think) DC5 OEM clutch/PP.

Pros and cons to a lighter fly:
On the plus side, faster revving engine since it's not having to spin up as much weight.
Minus side, it can get a bit inconvenient for daily driving; lighter fly means it doesn't hold inertia as well. In other words, what spins up faster also spins down faster.

Most folks don't recommend a fly under 10-11 lbs for daily drivers, just due to the fact that it can make the constant up and down shifts in traffic kind of a PITA.
I have been running the lighter ACT Streetlite fly for the last year, though, and really don't mind it. So, when I saw a slightly used ITR come up for a good price, I couldn't resist going back to an OEM part, and still running light.

EDIT:
Sorry, just realized I didn't answer your other question.
If you're running the OEM EP3 clutch, then you need a flywheel that will fit that. The ITR flywheel fits with the RSX/Integra clutch setups, not the EP3s.

So, if you wanted to run the ITR fly, you'd need an RSX clutch/PP, but to run the OEM EP3 fly, all you need is an EP3 clutch/PP.

Just the info I was looking for man , Thx a lot
- I put about 30 miles a day on my ep3 at most ( home to college , college to home ) sometimes more
- as far as that goes , is it possible for me to run dc5z clutch & fly ? are they any good ? or i should stick with oem parts and don't bother ( i never had to deal with my clutch thingy + no one close me had done this before so its my first time )

Nice!

Mine has 101 000 km (only a little over 60k mi, prev owner hardly drove it) but at this rate, I'll be putting on 50 000km/yr ... fkin hate my commute to work.

I love my EP to bits, I would very much need it to last till I pull in six figures. Hopefully that'll be within 5 years ^_^

Well, got the clutch out yesterday...and it's just fine. All of my troubles were from an old/worn/jammed slave cylinder. OOPS LOL!!!
Ah well, still got the new clutch and fly in, they feel pretty good. Forgot how light the OEM clutch is though, I keep stomping the floorboard LOL!

...on a related note, somebody buy my old clutch!
