So a while back, around November to January, posted up a thread with a pieced together turbo kit and had some problems tuning...Made 262 whp with a slipping clutch at 9 psi.
Well my car is back in the shop for some new parts. So far I've installed a competition clutch stage 4 and light weight flywheel. I've also installed stage 1 turbo cams, in the process of installing a catch can, and fixing a few things after 8,000 miles of hard driving and some track time. It's also getting stoptech brakes, pads, and lines. I've swapped out my 2 stage boost controller for a hondata style solenoid. Anyways, in my previous post, everyone wanted to see the benefits of water meth injection with a turbo. So within the next week or two, the car will be at the tuner, same tuner, Locash racing, for tuning at 12 psi, and with the water meth, and i'll post up pictures and info once its done.
On my previous tuning session, we never made it to tuning with the water meth because of the slipping clutch. So if you're still interested on how water meth helps, stay tuned :mwink:
Oh, and i live in Phoenix, so more than likely my tune and dyno session will be in atleast 110 degree weather, so we'll really get to see how water meth helps in hot weather.

I've been busy with other projects and shows with my VW so the EP was on the back burner, but i've still been checking in from time to time checking out your build and stuff. Glad to see you got yours all done, nice numbers too. Hopefully i'll have some good numbers to post up in a week or 2. Pushing it to 12 psi give or take a psi or 2. Hopefully i dont blow it up!

Cant beat the price for that intercooler with the prebent piping. lol
Its a Precision 5031
.60 intake with 3" inlet
.63 exhaust 5 bolt
It starts spooling around 3600 and full boost around 4200 RPM.

It made 262.9 on the first tune...but we only made like 2 or 3 dyno runs before the clutch just couldnt take anymore so the tuner wasnt even done tweeking....so hopefully now i'll get the numbers i want...AND HOPEFULLY ITS NOT HOT AS HELL ON TUNE DAY lol

At what rpm did the clutch let go?

It was around 4600 when it started slipping, just after full boost. Got a competition stage 4 and light weight flywheel now.

New pictures. Custom color powder coat...I don't think anyone else has this color, cause I mixed it myself. Its a 2 stage powder coat. Still not completely done with the build yet...just finishing up a few small things. So what do you guys think so far? :thumbu:

Im curious to see how it helps also...gonna run a dual nozzle set up. One in the lower intercooler piping, and one in the throttle body spacer.
My friend just had his trailblazer SS turbo tuned tonight, and gained 24HP with the water meth, so hopefully i'll see gains around that.

The car is done now, i just finished putting in my dual water/meth nozzles in last night, originally had just a single nozzle....so im gonna drive it for a week or 2 just to break the clutch in, and then it will be time for tuning. I'll keep you guys updated.
Yeah this is on an A3, all stock bottom end, just stage1 turbo cams, no other head work. The injection should do well here since its been in the triple digits.

Mine was bone stock also...and around 95 degrees, no humidity, and with a slipping clutch. I wish i couldve gotten just one good run without the clutch messing up. Oh well. Your numbers are pretty good at 7.5 lbs though.

Yeah the break-in period definitely sucks! Not only for the clutch, but the tuner and the skunk2 dealer on here told me no high rpm driving on the cams till its tuned. I've been seeing a lot of potential races pass me by lol
