I'm not trying to be a dick, but paying 2300 for 1 appearance piece is absolutely retarded in my book. Don't get me wrong, I love mugen, but their prices are stupid. I could see if it was a viper or vette cf hood, but a $2000+ hood for a civic?? No way. Nice piece bro, enjoy

we all know mugen's price's are what they are. no denying that only a certain group of people are willing to pay a premium for whatever mugen offers. its a beautiful hood, let's enjoy it for what it is. the hood looks great, i'm impressed. but it better bring a smile to your face everytime you look back at it. congrats man.

Agreed, they cater to a very specific audience with these parts. I personally couldn't spend that much on a civic hood, but can still appreciate the fact that someone desires to have extremely high quality stuff. This is all just a hobby anyway, if you enjoy having the hood, then it was a good purchase.

People take this stuff too seriously sometimes. (not directed at OP, of course)

yea, we won't pricing bc i don't talk money, but yes it was expensive. i unfortunately haven't gotten to see the hood first hand bc i work out of state, but from what i've heard from my guy at jotech the cf is hella exceptional, better than any he's ever seen.

i agree... somewhat, first of all its not JUST an appearance, the vents are functional and i'm shaving some weight PLUS it looks hella good. but i'll tell you this, EVERYBODY has the replica! i like being a little different is all. thanks for the compliment though :)

It's not full dry carbon. It has an FRP skeleton because of safety standards. The first set of hoods was dry carbon 1x1 weave, but had a thin white layer of primer on top, which forced you to paint the hood. These new hoods cost more because they have a 1x1 or 2x2 twill weave and comes perfectly molded so you can see the detailed woven matrix using autoclaves for incubation.

$2300 sounds correct by today's standards. Today, people are paying a 90% hyper-inflated rate for all JDM parts, which is a normal economic process. Does anyone remember when JDM bumpers were $400.00 shipped brand new from the factory? They now cost $800.00 shipped brand new from the factory LOL.

To the OP: thanks for showing us a nice piece of Mugen goodness. I miss it a little. I'm kind of glad that I stepped away from the whole "modding" scene because it's time for a new generation to step up . . . bigger and better. Out with the old, in with the new.

well you do realize that mugen paints its hoods when they use this hood, its basically raw carbon fiber so you are going to HAVE to apply something to it for a little protection. and i have plans for this hood, you'll just have to wait for pictures to see.
