I was snooping around the loading dock at work today and found that we have a set of brand new 245/45R17 Falken Azenis tires sittin on the shelf. I asked the manager/owner about them, they arent in our system so hes givin me an amazing deal on them (like...less than $100 each), but I wanted to know if I could fit them on a 7.5 wide wheel. Im looking at going up to a set of 17x7.5 wheels in the spring, but my main thing was i didnt wanna have to shell out full pop for tires. Wheel specs would be 17x7.5 +33 offset.

I think you can fit them but the sidewalls are gonna bulge out.

To wide and to tall... im running 245/40's 9" wide wheels. I mean they will fit but you will actually loose the performance of the tire since there is so much extra width. Its going to drive very sloppy almost like a stock tire.

You don't want to go any bigger that a 225/45 on a 7.5.

boo-urns...i was hoping that they would fit. Guess ill see what other hidden gems are back there and see if theres anything reasonable. I figure im already gonna be spending $1100 on the rims, don't wanna be spending another $600 on rubber.

Even thats a little big with some tires. A 225 sits nice and square on a 7.5 wheel. I actually ran the Azenis RT615's in a 225/45 on a 7.5 wheel and loved them.

Very true. Different brands run substantially wider than others. My 225 dunlop Z1's are the same width as my old 235 Azenis, and the difference is even greater when comparing to tires that arent in the Extreme Performance summer category.

I am running 225/45/17's on a set of 7.5 inch wheels and it sits pretty square with the wheel. No streching or bulging out at all. Also the tires i have are the Ventus Hankook V12 EVO k110. Great tires and good price, they were rated second to the star specs but are about 20-30 bucks less per tire
