OKay So, i wanted a flip key. i was going to do a rebuilt honda/acura key. i am still going to do that. but i figured for the price, why not try the all in one and done one that i can just buy and get key cut boom, programmed, bring it home and program the transmitter myself.

Flip Key
please note my key is an 02. he can do 03-05
So i contacted Artiway on ebay - Contact him via email/ebay.
55$ shipped for one key
email him and tell him you are from ephatch. i have informed him of this site..i told him he should become a vendor, i am seeing what he can do. but if you email him he will give you the 55$ shipped per key.

His store is here : http://stores.ebay.com/flipkey?_rdc=1

The guy communicates within 4 hours of email sent. he is awesome to deal with. my experience was great. fast communication and i got the key in 9-14 days

Here is what you get out of the package from him

inspect, check it out, keep in mind its not like the sexy oem honda keys. its close but its obvious to any person that has held a honda key. Still a nice piece and it beats hacking up a nice honda setup and risking butchering it.

notice the acura symbol on the back.take an exacto knife and pull it up

then reapply the honda decal it comes with.

good luck getting it cut. It won't fit in most key cutters.

You'll have to do what i did.

no dude it fits in the key machine when you disassemble it. i bought the same thing. use the exacto knife to take the honda sticker off. then it's the two small screws, try not to strip them. then carefully take the case off and it all comes apart. It takes a bit of intelligence to put it back together but pretty easy if you pay attention when taking it off. Then take the whole assy to a honda dealer and the key should now fit in the cutting/tracing machine. Also I know you'll want to play with it but don't. I played with mine too much and i guess I broke a plastic tab or something and now you can just push the key back in without hitting the button. No biggie but a good product overall.
Also the cutting and programming of the chip should be 10$ or cheaper don't let the dealer rip you off.

very dramatic...i dont think ill be using my key for jousting.

i am doing this as a review to see how long it will last. and how good it is. we will see.

depending on if its steel or not i was going to weld the 2 pieces together on the inside spot..but i think the its cast..we will see...or if its 2 diff metals then ill have to epoxy. i dont plan on my key breaking anytime soon tho.

that was why i took the pic of the key with the pin..showing that there is my only point of concern

for the price and simplicity of just buying, getting it cut/programmed immobilizer, then just programming your locks real quick..not bad for 50$

Looks good, I kind of want to get one too. I bought the car used and it only came with one key.

How's the reception of the remote? (like how far away from the car and still able to lock the car?)

ttttrigg3r
08-12-2010, 07:40 PM
I'm gonna take a guess at 100ft but i've never done a test or have ever been good at estimating distance. I've forgotten where I parked my car twice and used the remote to beep find it. The reception is decent and even goes through doors.

unsure as of right now. my car is still in the body shop, i am hoping to get it back end of next week. we will see though. its looking doubtful.

So now trying to get the immobilizer chip programmed and the key cut..dealership local to me is saying they will charge 85$ to do that...yeah fucking right...trying to find someone that can cut the key and not charge a leg for the 30 seconds of immobilizer programming.

ttttrigg3r
08-30-2010, 05:31 PM
wow sorry to hear about that. It was so easy for me. Try more honda dealers or maybe coax an employee. I know for certain it's a 5 min job that does not warrant a 85$ bill. GL

once the key is cut you can program it yourself. 2 valid keys plus new key.

turn key 1 to ignition count to five and remove
turn key 2 to ignition count to five and remove
insert new key into ignition and count to five... noww start the car.

that programs the immobilizer the chip?

ttttrigg3r
09-20-2010, 09:30 AM
No. That only programs the lock/unlock and panic functions of the key. It has nothing to do with the immobilizer. You can do that, but without that step that I talked about or going to the dealer and forking up cash the key will not turn the engine on. you can unlock but can't drive.

Any luck yet? what are the dealers asking for it?

Dealers are asking for 90$ i get it, its the hourly rate but it literally will take about 8 minutes, for the cutting and the immobilizer programing. I think im going to bring the car by the same dealership and be like look, my car is rad, please help me out. or see if the only charge like 30$ id have no problem paying like 30-40.

but 90 is just crazy. a regular local guy who does it is charing 60.

we will see today what happens. ill try to keep everyone posted.

Actually this is NOT how you program the keyless entry... it is also NOT how you program the immobilizer. You will need to take it to a dealer or buy a key programmer or cloner. My mistake, i had it mixed up with pats key programming.

ill update once i have one. i have been working alot lately too, so i havnt had time to monkey with the car too much.

yet I haven't found anyone who can do it..
Or at least I stopped trying

ImportCustomx
10-04-2010, 05:15 AM
Oh well your an actual vendor on here..you should sell them. they are definetly not an "oem" quality. that realisticly ..the key..should sell for $20-$25. its not worth 55.

espeicially when you have to pay so much to get it cut and programmed.

i can get the same exact one you have, price would be prob around $30-35. i would need a large amount of people to buy them to get them cheaper since the price is always jacked up getting them in small quantities

Yes the 02 key is like the older cut keys... the 03-05 is the laser cut ones.

U should hook people up. I know a lot on this forum would like a flip key w/o putting in the work. The product isn't worth 55$ but I was the first one to to get a few months back to test it out. It does the job pretty well though.

Import have u gotten it cut yet?

he actually cut the key for nothing. but i would have had to pay for the immobilizer, but i have kpro so i didnt need that to be programmed.

10-19-2010, 11:16 AM
OH I thought you had to get the immobilizer programed too but u got Kpro. In that case why didn't you just go to walmart or some cheap place and get it cut for 5 dollars or something. That's how much the key places would cut around here.

ImportCustomx

they did the cut for free but an hour labor charge for immobilizer programming... :(

so i paid nothing :)

does it matter what the fcc id# is on the remote. if it is are they all the same or what cuz the ebay seller was asking me for it and when i bought the car it never came with a remote so what can i do about all this

ImportCustomx
10-25-2010, 08:57 AM
you would have to the dealer to get it programmed i believe. i thought you needed the "original fob" to do this. i havent tried. so order it and try the reprogrammed process. just let the dude know which year car you have.

( put the key to the acc position then to the on, wait 4 seconds then press lock, back to acc pos...etc etc..youtube or it follow the video on the begining of my post.)

I dig the key setup. The 03+ keys are a bit more tricky to cut. I'm a part time locksmith and have a key cutter (for straight cut keys). Most locksmiths would be able to cut 02 and older keys no problem with a simple copier. The side cut keys not-so-much. I definitely dig the flip out though and will look in to it for my next EP3.
