nopionline.com tends to display non-existent parts, so watch out. Also, the JIC setup for the RSX is really nice. It should bolt right up if we use their tie rod ends.

http://www.ptuning.com has springs springs cheap like $159 for 2 inch drop in the front and rear and shipping is really cheap like 10 bucks i think iam gonna pick me up a set this week!

With the stock rim and tires...is the 2 inch drop enough for the si? Do you also need a camber kit? Thanks..

02civichatch
12-24-2002, 08:57 PM
i spoke with the honda dealer who is going to install my springs and they said no camber kit is needed it is only needed if your drop more then 2.5 they say but not sure exactly if it is more.

Suk02Si
12-24-2002, 10:12 PM
actually, anything more than 1.75" will need a camber kit. If you drop your car 2.5" like I and others have, you will have around 2.5 deg of negative rear camber which is good if you like understeer and bald tires. Its always a good idea to get a camber kit when lowering your car any more than 1.25 inches.

I believe -1 deg is stock rear camber

Skunk 2 is one of the best coilovers out there for Hondas and Acuras. That is what they tend to specialize in.

Of course you can...I have Neuspeed Race springs on stock shocks. But they drive like shit and they're killing the stock shocks.

Neuspeed race isnt that good of a spring. Its not your shocks that are a problem. I got sprint on mine and a bunch of my customers have given rave reviews on the eibach saying its a great ride. Never go for the cheapest cause they are not necessarily the best for you and your car. Yes you can use your stock shocks with any of the coilovers or springs. Stock shocks are good enough for now until Tokico releases theirs. Koni adjustables are the only ones made right now for the 03 SI. $145.00 for each front and $135.00 for each rear, shipping included. Everyone just ask for Chuck when calling and I'll take care of you guys. Thanks

If some conpany comes out with a better quality spring that drops as much as the race springs, do let us know. Until then I'll stay away from sport ute land. ;)

-What kind of prices can you get on Tein coilovers, showstoppers?

And what is wrong with Neuspeed?

ShowstoppersUSA
01-13-2003, 10:57 AM
Neuspeed is great on the cross bar but not that good on springs. Compared to an eibach or sprint they are bouncy. Thats the way I see it because I've ridden in different SI's with all three of those springs. But again thats just my opinion.

what about the ground control coil overs. are they any good and do you have them in stock?

ShowstoppersUSA

I got the ground controls in stock. They are the best stand alone coilovers out for the EP. Eibach is the manufacturer for the spring of the coilover set. It's $325.00 shipped if you are interested. Call me up at the shop if you are interested. Thanks

Maybe with stock shocks, but they're not designed to be used on their own. ALL springs that lower a car should be used with a coresponding shock that is valved correctly for the car and drop.

I like Neuspeed products, especially their suspension parts.

Chuck,

Which coilovers do you think are better for EP3 - Ground Controls or Skunk2. If I understand correctly, they both offer 0-3" of adjustment and can work with stock shocks (although replacing them would be better). Which has a better ride?? Which are easier to adjust?? If price were no object, I'd go Tien, but I need to stick more so in the $400 range, so I believe these two are my only decent choices.

Any opinions from anyone who has tried these would be greatly apprecieated (sp)!!

I have read in other forums that the gc coil overs make alot of noise. Is this true?
I was also lookin at the tein coil over kits.
What is the diff between the ss and flex aside from the spring rate?

thanks for your info

Hey Danny, what kind of noises? Maybe it was just installed wrong is what I'm thinking. I have a local customer with them on and he has no complaints. They are still the best coilovers for the car as of right now for the $325 range. They are easy to adjust, just jack up the car and use the tool that it comes with.

Just found what I believe is a good price for the Tein SS kit. I cant guarantee the fit on our cars but it is for +01 Civics.

Tein SS for $920.00 + shipping I assume

http://www.apexr1.com/honda.html

I have not dealt with this company before and know absolutely nothing about them.

TravisEP3, I think that some modifying would definitely have to take place for the 01+ kit Tein SS's to fit. Not a techie though, just remembering what I have read here before. Also, may want to look here for all sorts of shit

clubrsx.com has the best prices on Camber kits (I think). I bought my camber kit for my RSX-S there (along with a ton of other stuff) and getting my girlfriend a kit for her Si from there as well. Chris (owner of Clubrsx) is AWESOME to deal with, great service, fast shipping.
$125 shipped for Ingalls rear or
$139 shipped for Ingalls front & rear
I emailed him today to see if he had rear ones in stock and he said yes.

sup guys...everyone has an opinion on products...some people have different opionions on everything. i have a friend who has progress springs...he HATES them...he now has intrax and says their awesome.

another one of my friends has ground control and he hates it.

another has neuspeed race and loves it, the other hates it.

i talked to this one guy from Apexi and it could be biased, but he said that TEIN parts are made in china/korean/taiwan and built in japan. where as apexi are all built and hand made in japan.

another one of my friends who does a lot of autocrossing says H&R is the way it go because he's used it on the track and it's held up....everyone has an opinion...i think if everyone states why they don't like it...

it'd be much better. some people like med-soft rides like what most neuspeed sport springs offer...neuspeed race is stiff and requires aftermarket shocks.
