View Full Version : rattling noise and sparks wtf? help.

Just replaced my serpentine belt and when I cranked the engine, there was some fucked up rattling noise and lil tiny sparks shooting on the bottom pulley.
Can some help me out on this one?
I followed the diagram...
Could it be because I routed it the wrong way?

did you over torque the pulley or put it on backwards?

The only thing I touched was the tensioner....I didn't loosen anything else...

well as you said you may have routed it the wrong way, id double check that but also make sure there is nothing caught on the pulleys

Which bottom pulley? the crank or A/C ?

im not sure but my buddy is a mech and he told me my whole a/c compressor is shot and that i need to replace it with a new one. basically all the sparks was from the a/c compressor eating itself away or someshit like that was what he told me.
